It does seem strange that a lot of the games involving the top 6 are midweek, when teams could be weakened by players having to work. It would surely make more sense where possible to play these games on a Saturday

Sense and fixtures!

Top 4 all in action tomoro with game of day up at brig o lea with us hosting top of the pile Rossvale

neilston vs Rossvale .... neilston in good form lately and last team to beat them in league was rossvale (unbeaten  in 10 w7 d3) Rossvale hav points on board tho  playing most of there home games  and  going well  ... should be a cracker ... home win

the gow vs bens ... wee sticky patch for bens not win in two dropping points against close rivals ... gow Neva easy place to go  ... slender away away win

st roch vs  shire ... candy Neva know when there beat scoring many late goals ...also going well ... apart from wed evening defeat shire hv been in real decent form of late  after poor start and already hv 3-0 win against roch ... really on fence  with this one as it should be a real attacking game ) candy to mibbie sneak it

Starting to think Neilston could blow the league top spot wide open with a win v Rossvale. A real 6 pointer with Neilston having 3 games in hand against Rossvale.

A manager watching this promotion race very closely will be the Wishaw gaffer. By Saturday night, Scottish Cup or not, the Wishaw manager will be weighing up his rivals points. Is there a space in the top 3 or 4 for Wishaw?

Watch this space.

Thought Shettleston today were a far better team than any team with only 9 points at this stage of the season would be, just a pity their attack is non-existent as there is the basis of a good squad there.

Good on the Town.

Pity Shettleston aren't in the same league as this thread.

Was at Gow v Benburb today. First time i've had a chance to get to see the Gow in a few weeks.

Surprised how poor they were after going 1-0 down. Benburb keeper had a great save at 0-0 tipping on off his crossbar but as soon as the Gow lost a goal it seemed inevitable there would be no way back. Inability to defend the ball in behind killed them all afternoon.

Thought Benburb looked a decent outfit, played the condition of the pitch well and a very well drilled goalkeeper and back 4.

Shotts Bon Accord v Wishaw, Monday night.

A long wait for Wishaw to start a league campaign. 20 league games and 60 points up for grabs. Last season with only two places i'd have said it's beyond them but 3 places and a 4th play off spot it's have a go time for Wishaw. Even a few straight wins to start with would see them jump up the league.

I was through at Shotts on Saturday, the Shotts supporters are not happy with their manager and there were dark mutterings about him getting sacked. On a lighter note a spirited display from the Whe Ho & a much needed three points. Both teams finished the game with 10 men after a couple of twenty man brawls. (Our manager was also sent off). A poor refereeing display from a Mr L McKinnon from parish of Bathgate, he got pelters from both sets of supporters (we only had 5)

Maybe a step too far for Wishaw tonight at Shotts Bon Accord after the semi final. With a run in of 20 games Wishaw can afford to lose a few and still look at a top four place. Talking of Rossvale, for the first time in months they've been knocked off top spot as Benburb move into the No.1 position. Wednesday night should be interesting with Neilston at home to St Roch's and Wishaw at home to Rossvale.

It's going to be some end to the season. Well done to Neilston, The Roch and Benburb, who all handled the pressure and got the 3 points last night.  Couldn't be a better set of fixtures on Wednesday (I'm sure the Bens will be watching closely).  All if and buts, but looking at the remaining fixtures, Rossvale probably have the easiest run in on paper after Wednesday, Its going to go to the wire , no room for error  from anybody.

Two massive fixtures tonight that could really shape how the league pans out.

After defeat on Monday Wishaw need to start picking up points and planting a seed with the teams at the top if they are to have serious aspirations of promotion, and Rossvale will be equally motivated having dropped points to Neilston last time out.

Neilston host St Roch's with both teams desperate for victory to stay in contention.

Looking at the league you would have to think upwards of 60 points will be enough for promotion. http://www.nonleaguematters.co.uk/divisions/165/

Three rounds of fixtures on the cards between now and Monday and after that we should have a better idea of how it will play out.

Surely the most competitive league in Junior football with five teams all going into the final furlongs having serious hopes of winning the league or promotion.

We gifted Bens two of their goals but they are a slick outfit.

Neilston1-2 St Rochs

very lively game  thot neilston deserved at least the point but were quite flat up top... candy scored 1st min to  get the game off to flyer .. roch goalie made 2 absolute world class saves one in each half .neilston scored 2nd half and the roch with winner around 15 to go

ref was honking for both to be fair ... game far to big for him ... felt like it was going to erupt

Still lots of twist and turns in league with wishaw and vale  drawing 0-0
