HibeeJibee
From last season the EOSL and other non-league clubs outwith HL & LL were forced to negotiate 1 / 2 preliminary rounds to make it into the Scottish Cup proper. Draw for both preliminaries is on Monday at 11:30am.Lothian Thistle Hutchison Vale (EOSL champions), Kelty Hearts (East Junior champions), Glenafton Athletic (West Junior / Junior Cup champions) and Colville Park (Amateur Cup champions) all start in PR1. SOSL, South & East Cup-Winners' Shield and North Junior slots were unused, due to Edusport, LTHV and BoD respectively winning them. They will be joined by 4 clubs randomly drawn from PR2 entry.Preston Athletic, Coldstream, Burntisland Shipyard, Wigtown & Bladnoch, St Cuthbert Wanderer, Threave Rovers, Newton Stewart, Golspie Sutherland, Banks o'Dee, Linlithgow Rose, Girvan and Glasgow University all start in PR2 except for whichever 4 are randomly drawn to fall back into PR1. LTHV and Kelty will be looking to draw one of the clubs falling back - perhaps not Linlithgow - then failing that Colville. Preston, Coldstream and Burntisland will be hoping to avoid falling back into PR1 - if they do hopefully draw another such team - and avoid any of the qualifiers, Linlithgow and maybe BoD and Girvan in QR2. PR1 is August 12th. PR2 is September 2nd.

Wee Smiler
Tough that Kelty and Lothian drawn together so early as both could have gone far and one wont. Coldstream got a tough one against the winners. Shippy and the amatuers winner will be close and Preston probably the happiest

rigano
Kelty v lthv will give us an early indication of what type of season lies ahead. As someone above said not ideal that they both drew each other. Is that shippy first home draw for years?

They have not been drawn at home in the Scottish Cup since 1994-95 when they qualified and beat St Cuthbert Wanderers in R1! Always had away draws since cup went 'all in' from 2007-08. I've seen it claimed that Colville have lost some players. Burntisland seem to have recruited almost an entire new team and Preston is also having a big rebuild after getting relegated out of LL. If that's all correct then maybe it won't be such a breeze for Colville. Indeed last season they needed a replay to get past Edusport then were beaten convincingly by Girvan. Would hardly call a 1-0 defeat being convincingly beaten .
HibeeJibee
Apologies, for some reason I thought it was 0-3. Anyway, the fact remains they drew 2-2 against Edusport (at Annan), then beat them 1-0 at home (at Benburb), then lost 1-0 at home to Girvan (also at Benburb), so they weren't blasting their way past teams. It's a tough draw for Burntisland and Preston - but I think clubs would have taken Colville over LTHV, Kelty, Glenafton and probably Linlithgow given the choice.
