The whole point of a Christmas Night Out is that its a night out, Having it in the office defeats the purpose and the thought of the people I work with fingering a buffet and then putting it back gives me a sick feeling at the back of my throat. Cant think of anything worse than having it in the actual office.

...and you can slope them easier id you're out and get fed up with them.

Ours is this Saturday and it's during the day which I'm happy with. Going out during the day is far better than at night. When you have to shout over music to have a conversation, that's my time to leave.

The other way of looking at it is that you get your work colleagues bit out the way at lunch time and free up the evening to go drinking with people you actually want to spend time with.

I'd happily make small talk whilst we did the command buffet with people I wouldn't want to socialise with outside of work.

This Friday we have the office buffet carry on. Everyone gets to choose from a list what they want to take in. Everyone piles in throughout the day.

Next Wednesday we have our official piss up. Half day at work, before a meal (£20) but get all our drink paid for. Doesn't usually work out too bad, as everyone ends up toddling off in their own groups elsewhere.

Festive period in work is a piece of piss.

We did that for ours on Saturday there. Cracking day. And the only food involved was from the chippy beside Partick station.

Did you complete it? We done it for my birthday and, from a starting point of St Enoch, made it to Kelvinhall. I was absolutely blitzed and ended up getting everyone behind the bar in the Grapes for group photo.

Took us 9 hours, starting from Buchanan St, but did all bar Ibrox.

We were in a pub at the stop previous to Ibrox, and a bunch of guys going round in the opposite direction said that there was no point doing Ibrox as there were no pubs open as it wasn't matchday.

Seemed strange as surely ANY pub opens on a Saturday, but we just took them at their word and got on with it.

The only pub I can think of vaguely close to Ibrox is the Louden and I have no idea when it 's open. Have seen it shut when we attempted it from a Friday night but I've had a pint in there on a Sunday night before. I suppose your best bet is to head along to Paisley Road West and try something there.

The Louden is generally open when we do it, they’re surprisingly friendly and usually offer free sandwiches out.

I’d imagine the “sad b*****ds who have nothing in their lives barring bevvy and Rangers” market is there, which is why it’s open on non match days too.

The real dives are places like the Grapes and the Bellrock. Proper shiteholes.

When we did it there was a pair of boxers filled with jobby left just outside it on the wee bit of waste ground. Good juke box though.

Louden at Ibrox was the surprise, properly friendly when they found out we were doing sub crawl and a tray of sandwiches were provided. Morton had played them the night before and they were happy to talk about the game with no issues as well.

Go to work naked.

Nasty. No one wants to see that.

I saw that earlier; got bored by the halfway point, and I'm not going back to it. Has anyone in the article actually asked an employee to come to work naked, or is this the fantasy of a feverish BBC editor doing some blue sky thinking with the interns?

We handed in a load of scrap cable to the scrappies the other week and divvied the returns up between ourselves meaning we’ve all got about £80 for the Christmas night out. All the boys from my site meeting up in a pub then working our way down Perth Road into town. Will no doubt meet loads of other folk from our work on the way.
