I had some big heavy thing. Was skipping in the (Pure)Gym one day when one of the handles disintegrated and and the heavy leather and metal end whipped past someone's eye at light speed who was on the bench press. My heart stopped in that split second as I waited for his eyeball to explode. Fortunately he never even noticed.

I am lazy with doing cardio and only really do weights but given I am extremely limited in what I can do, I am going to do a couple of HIIT-type workouts a week.

Last night I did ten minutes steady as a warm up and then a Tabata style workout.  What you do for Tabata is two minutes steady, then for the next four minutes you do 20 seconds absolutely full pelt, 10 seconds slow.  After eight reps / four minutes, you do two minutes steady and then stop.  I added a steady ten minutes on the end as well as a warm down.

I have a terrible old cross trainer type bike that we bought more than ten years ago probably for about £50 from Argos but it gets the heart rate up.

I started off doing Joe Wicks ones on YouTube then just made it up as I went along from then on with things like up down planks and press ups combined with squats and burpees but I would always start by high knees running on the spot to get the heart rate up.

Doing it on an empty stomach after 16+ hours of not eating and completely hammering the workouts even if you need a longer rest period is the best way to do it as well.
