I'd say so, the County midfield are pretty shite though. Tim Chow ffs. I thought we were pretty good on Friday and were the better team for most of the game. We're short up front though and it shows with the chances we miss. We still have signings to make which will see Simon Murray relegated to back up. Planning to meet a Hibee friend pre-match for a couple of beers and then fill the lovey Thistle stereotype by taking in a few shows at The Fringe before the last train home to Weegieland. Thistle always seem to take a while to find their feet, and this Hibs team isn't as obviously the overpaid shambolic mess we shat the bed against in our first season back up too many times. Equally though, this Thistle team is night and day to one with Mair and Piccolo. Suspect Hibs will win, because of our wing back fragilities more than our centre-back problems, but we will get a goal and the midfield battle should be fairly even. Top 5? St Johnstone? Hopefully with one or two more signings in by then, and the rest of our team up to scratch, we should be more than ready. Really like the look of McGinn, McGeouch and McSwanson. The Arch Posted July 24, 2017 Share Posted July 24, 2017 Osman and Bartley appear very similar players, as do Bannigan and McGinn, so midfield battle should be really interesting. Suppose it partly depends on whether we go with another central midfielder to shore it up, or go more gung-ho with Spittal, Erskine and Lawless off the front.
