Liverpool leak goals like a sieve, against those sides it's over before a ball is kicked if you're going to do that.  Atletico too but they had a mare in the groups.

Paul merson declaring the premier league teams are "dominating" Europe now because a handful of admittedly very good results this week. Imo the only 1 that will go remotely close too winning it this year will be city. But against your barcas bayerns and real think they will come up short. Hope not as watching them this year is something else, but think the aforementioned teams would have the edge purely down to experience in the latter stages.

i agree, think city or barca  will go close, don't see bayern doing much this year.

You just knew that would be the narrative after this week. City and Liverpool both had emphatic scores over pretty dross opposition and Spurs rode their luck to get a good result which puts them in a decent position to go through. Utd should have a bit too much for Sevilla, but I fully expect Chelsea to bow out. 4 teams in the 1/4s would be a good return based on the last few seasons, but dominate is a bit of strong word at this stage IMO.

Bayer seem to have turned the corner winning their last 5 games scoring 19 times conceding 5. Tighten that defence up and they will be there or thereabouts again this year.

He was always likely to be the first one to reach that level. Until they topple a few of the big guns again definitely got it all to prove though. I’m just delighted to see Liverpool doing so well in this again and 2 big QF legs to come can’t wait. See what the draw throws up and with the Anfield factor you start to get a sniff of it again.

Totally agree they've done better this year than the last good few years anyway. Hardly surprising considering how dross they have been in the champions league for a while now.

Brother in laws a Liverpool fan so always like to see them do well. fear for them defensively coming up against some of the top teams. They will score goals against anybody though.

it's not so much the defence for us just now , it's more the midfield, teams play through us quite easily if they beat the press and we're left wide open at times. a team like barca or madrid would exploit that

Wijnaldum was superb the other night, him emre can and I would say Milner instead of Henderson loom a good fit. Henderson is decent but rate Milner as a better player all round. Can see the point about being to exposed though. will be interesting viewing to see how far yous go.

Will be interesting to see especially now big Virgil is starting to look the part. As Dan says though you can’t really have it both ways but the keeper finally looks like he might have it in him but we will see.
