Scottish Championship Odds 2017/18

People are pricing us based on form last season. Problem is we haven't looked as good in preseason. Granted it's preseason and that's about other things, result not important etc but still...

Lost Mallan which is a massive loss the way he was playing in the latter half of the season. Don't even want to think how many of the goals he assisted or scored or changed play from back to front. Plus we lost Loy, who wasn't as crucial as Mallan but scored some important goals and Magennis and Eckersley out too.

Some disquiet about who we've signed. Mainly young guys making a step up rather than anyone who has inspired the fans.

That said all this will be forgotten with a league cup run or opening day win, but we've a hard season start.

Certainly hope it's not an opening day win for you lot....your playing us!

Our recent form against you suggests you'll not need to lose any sleep over that one. Ridiculous to suggest anything is decided after two games, but we're playing you then the Ton, so that'll be an interesting early barometer for us.

Falkirk beat a League 2 team at home by 3 goals. The rest of us may as well concede the league already lads.

Not entirely sure what rattled your cage this morning, although bookmakers appear to be offering Falkirk as low as 7/2 now. Still possible to get 5/1 though.

From yesterday, Falkirk, Inverness, Dundee U, and St Mirren all impressed. Still hard to say who's going to control the league though....if anyone.

With us winning by 6 against a better team we'd be aswell as just getting the trophy over to EEP.

Agreed, you guys and Morton can't be counted out although I still think more likely for Play Off slots rather than the title.

I'd like to think we'll challenge for the playoffs, that comes down to whatever three signings we bring in though.

Scoring 6 into a goal with a keeper who looked like he had been dragged out the pub to play is an embarrassment.

Odds on Falkirk shortening further with most now placing them 7/2, although still possible to get 4/1 in a couple of places. Hard to believe they were 11/2 a few weeks ago.

Odds drifting on most other teams. Biggest surprise is BWIN offering 12/1 Dunfermline compared to 9s and 10s with most others.

Truly great news for Falkirk fans everywhere.

The signings we've made are possibly good enough to elevate us from challenging for 5th to challenging for 4th. We've still to make 3 signings but they'd have to be pretty spectacular ones to elevate us to challenging for the title. Plus, McManus is suspended for the first two games, Nicky Clark might need an ankle op and David Hopkirk is always injured. Our strikeforce for the opening day is currently 17 year old Callum Smith.
