The Club are delighted to welcome Ryan Donnelly to the club Ryan is a local lad and former Airdrie Albion Rovers and Ayr Striker.

David Greig said Ryan will be a phenomenal addition to the strike force at Gartcairn and we are delighted to have him more importantly for the club and the academy it's great to see more local talent being involved with the Academy and the Juniors.333cb2309988eff7fc1622dd1582cac0.jpg

Cairn Jnrs are delighted to announce a loan agreement with @albionrovers for Liam McGuigan until Christmas.

David Greig said he has been delighted with Liam in the couple of games he has played so far scoring 4 goals in 2 games.
Once again he is a Local lad and the club relishes promoting local talent playing in the team to show the younger players in the Academy a pathway is available to senior football with hard work and determination.a5111c8ca8fa6276687190eb4b796433.jpg

Lanark 3-3 Gartcairn
A proper junior game that had everything, both teams converting penalties in a first half that both teams tried hard without being at their best, wind played a major part.

Second half with both teams trying to play football , for me Gartcairn edged it on balance of play, both teams again tried to play football and it was end to end, it was Lanark who went ahead albeit the keeper should’ve did better.
The cairn pushed and pushed and got a deserved equaliser again thru Ryan Donnelly, on came our captain kev Ross for the injured tait and had an immediate impact with kev Ross bulletins in a scobie cross to take the lead.
Talk about an inspired substitution.
Just after Lanark we’re reduced to ten men , maybe I missed what for but honestly couldn’t see why.
Gartcairn failed to hold out and with minutes remaining Lanark equalised.
Game ended 3-3

Summary
Gutted, thought we had won it only to throw two points away at end, in truth draw a fair result.
Joint top of the table with surprise package Royal Albert.
Still one game at a time and as always the next ones the most important. Mtc

Thanks to Tam and his committee for halftime and full time hospitality and all the best for the rest of season

Excellent highlights. I thought your 2nd and our 3rd was offside but have changed my tune.  The penalty we gave away and your 3rd are absolute howlers.  Saw a post mentioning your keeper at our 2nd, which I didn't notice at the time but the guy on the post is as bad so maybe your keeper doesn't feel so bad!

Love the pre and post match interview with your manager.

Derby Day Match Report

Gartcairn 3 -0 Bellshill

Cairn took on Bellshill today with Cairn sitting 2nd in the league and there opposition  Promotion contenders 4 points behind.

Davy Greig was without the fire power of Liam McGuigan and Arbuckle who once again failed a pre match fitness test.

After coming off the Bench in the Lanark game to score skipper Kevin Ross was handed a starting berth with his centre back partner Amos being dropped to the bench.
The Cairn support were also delighted to see  a starting spot for the versatile Ryan Oddonnell with the young pretender Leslie being dropped to the bench alongside the injury returning Van Nuill and Meechan.

The first half was a relatively stuffy affair with both sides testing each other out in a midfield battle that the experienced Tait,  OD Bowie , Mcewan  and Mcleneghan came out on top.
Bellshill were hitting pot shots from in and around the box but Johnny Robertson was never tested in the first half.
Cairn had 2 real chances that both fell to Donnelly and he stung the hands of the keeper with one and really tested him with another but failed to add to his impressive tally.

HT 0-0

Greig made one change at HT with Tait coming off after being unable to shake a calf knock being replaced by the dropped Leslie.

Cairn exploded out of the Traps with a great through ball from Williams into the path of Mcewan who caught the Bellshill left back napping rounding him before despatching his chance with style.
1-0 Cairn 46 min.

Cairn were now in the front foot and in confident mood taking the play by the scruff of the neck with great forward runs by Williams on the Right and Bowie on the left.

Frustration took its part  in the 58th Minute when frustrated by the play of Bowie on the left side the Bellshill player went head to head with Bowie and then lifted his hands leaving the Referee no option but to give him his marching orders.

With Bellshill down to 10 men it was all Cairn and Skipper Kev Ross was unlucky not to get successive goals with a header going just past on 60mins.

Leslie who had a point to prove after being benched showed his metal in the middle of the park and did what we should see more of when he drew his laces through the ball 20 odd yards out sending the ball low and beyond the Bellshill keeper.
2-0 Cairn 67 mins

It would soon be 3 when  Star Man Bowie spun inside the box riffling his shot high into the roof of the net to finish the match.

3-0 Cairn 79 mins.

The reminder of the game was seen out and with other results going the way of Gartcairn they ended the day with the 3 points and top of the League.

FT 3-0 Cairn

Walkers Bon Bon MOM Scott Mcewan

There is no game next Saturday due to the international break.
Cairns next match is away to Johnstoneburgh on the 21st of October.

Great result today for Gartcairn juniors away to st Anthony’s , we won 2-1 but were made to sweat for the winner.
Gartcairn dominated the first half, giggsy scored a pen and we got a second afte4 the keeper clashed with jal, the keeper took a heavy knock and was down for roughly 8 minutes.
Giggsy stepped up but put it by the post, poor penalty miss after the ten minute delay,
The ants keeper then pulled off save after save all the while looking punch drunk, it was clear he had concussion and indeed went to hospital at half time, no truth in the rumor that he gave his name as Buffon to the nurses.

Second half the right back replaced him in goals, it was the ants that came out the blocks the second half and converted a penalty after some poor defending forced Kyle priestly in goals into a rash challenge.
1-1
Gartcairn huffed and puffed , both sides went for the winner although neither had any real chances.
85 mins Gartcairn corner went over the line, possible touch from an ants player, the ants were claiming it never crossed the line but after watching video evidence the referee made the right decision.
A clash with Gartcairn keeper Kyle and an ants player had the ants sideline shouting for another penalty, thankfully he never gave it.
Gartcairn saw the game out to claim their first victory over second placed ants to take our lead at the top of the table to three points.
Hope the keepers ok and thanks to the ants committee for their usual hospitality and govan crumpets and all the best

Next week we are away to Dunn pace in the west cup
