I think you are over estimating how well Liverpool have done in recent years. 7th in Rafa’s last season followed by near administration and 6th, 8th, 7th, 2nd, 7th, 8th and 4th last season without having to balance European football. 4th again this year, behind 3 clubs with far bigger budgets would be real progress.
