Massive fire at high rise flats in London

Recommended Posts

I'm quite concerned that the grey tower blocks opposite my flat are being covered in some more aesthetically pleasing white cladding.

The last thing I need is Akala and Lily Allen giving me pelters for causing multiple deaths by wanting a nicer view out of my window.

Stopped by the Town Hall protest on my way home from work yesterday. I would describe the mood of the people there as incandescent. There is a long and bitter history between these communities and the council that still appears to be only doing the absolute minimum to keep the press of their backs.

But I am sure someone in, where is it you are again, has a better read on this than me.

Shepherd's Bush. And I was correct:P

Im not a chemist but its not 'filled with cyanide' I think its a natural product which happens when the plastics and that burn, pretty sure the same thing happens when upvc doors are burnt also.

Ok, filled with cyanide releasing materials.

So in essence, a big, flammable, cyanide releasing death trap.

But more importantly it looked prettier from the posh flats,

Isn't that the most important aspect of choosing the cladding?

The posh folk must have been angrier than the residents. It was ugly as f**k

Even uglier now.

Blackened worse than a slice of bread that gets stuck in the toaster,

and doubt scraping it with a big knife will help.

On a more serious note.

Wonder how many contractors are currently shredding the receipts for what they actually bought compared to what they are requested to buy;

Shouldnt the council be checking these things before signing off on the refurbishment?

Contactor is in the shit but the council trying to pass off all the blame is ridiculous.

Allegedly over 600 buildings identified as having iffy cladding already, according to reports.  3 with the same cladding as Grenfel Tower.

Govt not naming them specifically yet, to avoid creating panic.

There's an easy way to find out.
