Top guy Bryan was. Got him from Easthouses Lily. Promised them the proceeds from a friendly but it was poorly attended and after referees expenses Easthouses only got £100. Also Bryan got landed with driving a car load of players to nearly every away game. Liked his bevvy though

2 new signings this week Stephen Manson and Josh Morris.

Good luck to Josh sure he will do well at WW as he's a proven scorer in the LL. Unlucky with injury with us got crocked in a closed door game with Dunfermline and struggled after that.

Fingers crossed Cowden he certainly knew where the goal was when he was at Hawick.

We appeared before a Lowland League Disciplinary Panel on Wednesday 14th February, which considered an administration error made at our match against Vale of Leithen on Saturday 23rd December 2017. An appeal against the decision made by the panel has now been submitted to, and accepted by the SFA, who will now appoint a panel to consider the matter. Despite what you may have read elsewhere, the matter is still ongoing, and the decision made is now set aside. A date for the SFA hearing has still to be arranged.

Vale boss furious after Whitehill's appeal is successful

VALE'S survival hopes have been dealt a major blow this week, despite securing a convincing win over Hawick Royal Albert.

Whitehill Welfare listed ineligible players when they beat the Innerleithen side 4-3 just before Christmas at Victoria Park. After admitting the offence at a disciplinary hearing the match was ordered to be replayed. But an appeal has found in favour of Whitehill this week and they are being allowed to keep the points.

Vale manager Chris Anderson has described the decision as 'a disgrace' and 'making a mockery' of the Lowland League.

He told us: "It is a shocking decision. I don't understand it. "They initially said there would be a replay, which we thought that was a bit harsh because they had clearly broken the rules – regardless of whether it was intentional or not. "But now they've made an appeal and it and just ended up with a £50 fine. It just makes a mockery of the whole system. "We as a club are furious. We are fighting relegation and these are big games. "The decision also sets a precedent for the future. The league can't ever punish a team for a team sheet infringement now."

Vale currently sit in second bottom but if they can still catch Gala Fairydean Rovers if they win their games in hand.

David Baxter, secretary of the Lowland league said: "The league has a disciplinary process and Whitehill Welfare had the right to appeal the league's decision. "Whitehill's punishment has now been revised by the SFA and the decision has to stand and be respected."

The Vale are set to face Whitehill at Victoria Park tomorrow in the South Region Challenge Cup at 3pm.

I do love a grudge match :thumsup2

No mention  of the serious car crash that closed the Penicuik to Peebles road that day. Everybody was diverted and late?

The manager has them fighting relegation yet has a cheek to complain. Who's fault is it they're in that position in 1st place :whistle

Edit : we should be appealing the £50!!

Whitehill Welfare Official Statement

We appeared before a Lowland League Disciplinary Panel on Wednesday 14th February, which considered an administration error made at our match against Vale of Leithen on Saturday 23rd December 2017.

An appeal against the decision made by the panel was submitted to, and accepted by the SFA, who appointed a panel to consider the matter and an appeal hearing was held on Tuesday 27th March at Hampden Park.

Our appeal was upheld by the panel. Contrary to reports in the press no ineligible players were fielded and we received a sanction of a £50 fine for an administration error.

We now consider the matter closed.

Nowt like making up a few facts to divert attention and sell a few papers.
