Last i heard the problem was getting it printed. Never knew a book had already been written who wrote and was it not published simply due to costs or for legal reasons ? griffiti on the wall
If it was simply cost then I'm sure candy merch would love to help in whatever way we could as it would be fantastic to have a book out in time for the centenary season in just over 2 years time
griffiti on the wall
Talking about the centenary season I have not heard anything happening what ideas do the posters on here have which us supporters could do to celebrate 100 years of st rochs football club. Rochstar1920
Statue is a great idea. Sure big Starky would be honoured to be immortalised in stone. Am sure he would many a time we used to sneak onto the pitch after school for a game.

Haha, nice one. Bang on, though, statue of McGrory would be a very fitting way to mark the year. That twinned with everything else being spoken of and JMP could look very different in 2020. Believe he wanted it done locally and that might be a problem ie do people still print books in Scotland? Sure there's an article about Jim and the book online. Not a dig in anyway but the Evening Times printed the story well it seems like two decades ago now. We like to take our time at the Candy and get it done right. You don't want to rush anything. I've told the grandweans to tell their grandweans to make sure and buy a copy when it comes out.

peasy23
Should add at one point for about 20 years Petershill's ground until 1935 was only along the road and under the railway bridge at Hawthorn St. 1919 to 1934 to be precise, we had to move because of housing being built. Shared with Third Lanark at Cathkin Park for a year before moving into Petershill Park in August 1935.

Love the picture on your Facebook page showing a game at the ground and the tenement in the background in Hawthorn St, which is of course is still there. When Peasy moved into the old Petershill ground in 1935 were the Old Firm invited to play a game there and 10,000 punters turned up?
