Junior football, what is the future?

Took in a match involving one of the clubs who are most vocal pro junior voices, brought about 25 to the game and only 5 of them paid in the rest had ‘committee’ passes, heres a thought if you want junior football to survive pay in. 20 committee passes is ludicrous.

You only get 10 per club

With respect, your answer shows that you know absolutely nothing about the NMW, how it is enforced, by whom, where the funding comes from and what sectors will be looked at in the future. If there are clubs paying expenses that aren't reasonable and not keeping robust records of how they are arrived at then they are putting themselves in a precarious position.

Well facts speak for themselves. How many Junior clubs have been prosecuted for not paying NMW or dodgy expenses? None? The resources arent there to investigate.

Of course clubs leave themselves open to problems but the chances of them ever being investigated are slim to none so they continue.

The only fact in that statement is that no Junior clubs have been prosecuted. Once the first investigation takes place and any arrears are identified then that argument, as useless as it is to begin with, will be void. You seem comfortable in thinking Junior sides will be ignored in favour of more high profile sides. That shows a lack of knowledge about how the NMW work is generated. The resources for investigating NMW infringements are increasing year on year. The funding included. And it doesn't come from HMRCs budget either. Incidentally, it would be a civil investigation unless it was deemed any criminality has taken place. The civil penalties can be severe though.

What argument? No Junior club has yet been prosecuted despite it being a requirement for many years, the resources to investigate are clearly limited and/or there is a lack of will to do it, therefore any club who choose to ignore the law continue to get away with it (or maybe everyone is complying?).

That's the only point I was making, I certainly dont condone any club trying to cheat the system. Jeezo!

The East Region and the EoS should get together and sort this out. As the SJFA as an organisation seem content to drag this out to their EGM/AGM, when nothing will probably happen except to kick the can further down the road.

I think that opportunity is gone, the EoS will continue to accept applications and the SJFA will not do anything. Remember there are clubs with no interest in EoS.

While we're still talking about Bo'ness and Penicuik possibly joining, it's not too late. The damage has been done to the East Region, everyone involved could at least try to make it a clean cut. Having things fester for another year isn't in anyone's best interest.
