I'm predicting mixed feedback and therefore status quo.No surprise that clubs continue to speak to the EoS pre-March deadline. I said a while back that a trickle would turn into a flow eventually. The under 20s EoS league is about to expand next season with Kelty, Dalkeith and Ormiston entering sides, plus 1 of the other Junior clubs that may be making the switch next season. Newtongrange and Bonnyrigg could effectively be youth 'feeder clubs' for Dalkeith and Whitehill, with Tranent and Musselburgh promoting players up to Ormiston. If Lothian Thistle get their club licence as Kelty Hearts appear to believe is happening in a few weeks (they just installed cover for 120 spectators to get their ground up to the required standard) and the number of promotion places into the Lowland League each season gets increased as is rumoured to be happening, there is a lot less danger of a logjam of top ex-junior clubs developing at the top of the EoS: Better to be one of the top junior clubs that gets in early than wait until the LL has flushed out all the substandard Borders and Galloway teams it launched with and the EoS has to add a second division again, if a club is going to make the switch. An out of date list too, a few of those sides have gone the way of the dodo. One of the major things that separates Junior from Amateur is longevity. While there are a number of amateur clubs who have been around for years and years, there are also a significant proportion of fly-by-night ventures, akin to the doomed Falkirk Juniors project where mates wanted to play together and as soon as that ended, the club went too. Next, a wee opening is sniffed by some of the more progressive outfits and discussions start. Next, a lot of clubs scrambling over each other to get into a newly formed league.
