Junior football, what is the future?

Would be great if they could set up a WoS and an NoS for 2019-20.  Make an announcement this summer and invite applications.  Open it up to the amateurs as well.  Gives everyone time to prepare for the move.  Then base the leagues next year on finishing positions in 2018-19.  This kind of thing seemed impossible not so long ago but now it seems inevitable that it will happen at some point.

If the SJFA go into the next PWG meeting and say the exact same thing as last time "we want to join the pyramid", they aren't likely to get a second chance at integration. Without coming with a firm proposal or showing in some way they've taken the previous advice on board, it'll be out of their hands and handled in a similar way to the creation of the Lowland League.

Assuming the 121  votes for and the 4 votes against,  was the correct number (125), then by my arithmetic  (possibly wrong !) 6 junior clubs didn't vote or didn't attend. Based on last season's number of clubs :

West = 64 clubs -1 (Dunipace)

North = 34 clubs -2 (1 club resigned & 1 club in abeyance next season)

East = 60 clubs - 24 (clubs which joined the EoSL)

TOTAL  63 + 32 + 36  = 131 clubs remaining junior

BALANCE   131 - 125 (votes cast) = 6 clubs didn't participate

Who are they ?

Just catching up and I think you have it spot on.  The SJFA are not going to get access to the Pyramid.

What they should be doing is going down the road of negotiating entry for the WRJFA and NRJFA in to the Pyramid at tier 6 as complete Regions, but morphed into WoSFL and NoSFL with their rules and regulations matching those of the EoSFL and SoSFL.  The PWG wont oppose this.

This, together with the remaining FIfe and Lothians clubs moving to the EoSFL and addressing the "Tayside" question should be the focus of TJ at these meetings, however as ever, if appears to be all about him and job preservation.

It would be better to know who are the 4 clubs who voted against it.

Don't think anyone really knows apart from themselves. It was a show of hands (holding red or green cards) and although there were 4 reds it would be hard to say who they  were bearing in mind the brief time they were in the air. It was just noted as an overwhelming majority rather than an actual count. There may also have been one or two abstentions so not neccesarily 121 in favour, but a clear result nevertheless.

Exactly.  The SJFA should now be doing the best it can for the remaining members.  If TJ can achieve that,  then the SJFA can be dissolved with some dignity, rather than facing a death by a thousand  cuts over the next few years.

If the juniors move to the senior pyramid then they are no longer juniors.  Simple as that.  Starting from that basis will help the SJFA move forward.  Either they stay junior in the SJFA or they move to the pyramid and become senior.

Was having a look at where clubs in the east region ended up in the leagues.

To my amazement some clubs have been erased from the history of each of the leagues. http://www.ultrasoft2.co.uk/ersjfa/default.asp

SJFA site still mention clubs who have escaped bought into the official 5 year plan http://www.orlandofiges.info/section10_RevolutionfromAbove/TheFiveYearPlan.php

I presume some clown in the SJFA is insisting these clubs will be removed from the SJFA web site just as soon as they find  an electronic rubber.

Who is this Stalinist Commissar rewriting history?

It would be funny if it wasn't just so pathetic.  Some sad people running the asylum.

Kind of ironic given that the Juniors is all about "the history" ;)

And I thought the SPFL was meant to be repetitive. 7 games minimum v each team!

That's really pretty pathetic.

Hanlon's Razor - never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity.

I would suspect they'll have tried to delete them in some way, shape or form ahead of next season and that has had an unintended inverse effect on the data for 2017-18. If they were desperate to erase all memory of these sides, then the background pic of Bonnyrigg v Arniston might well have gone too! Tinfoil hat (in this case) not required IMO.

That may be the reason, but the results haven't been erased. I admit my IT skills aren't great, but if what you say is right (about inadvertently deleting data from 2017/28) would the results not have gone, too?

And surely the person in charge of IT could have been able to come up with a suitable program only affecting 2018/19 onwards.

ETA: The missing teams appear to have been reinstated! (That will appeal to certain fans of the grade...)

I didn't mean they had deleted data - simply that perhaps they had unticked the teams to set up 2018-19 divisions but that had had a knock-on elsewhere.

Check the tables from earlier seasons here:

The defecting clubs are still there. It's only 2017/18 that has been tampered with and that suggests mean-spirited pettiness is at the root of it.
