Junior football, what is the future?

The tier 6 across the board scenario was going to upset the self-interest agendas of too many of the other parties (for example HL clubs are unlikely to actually want Broughty Athletic as an opponent any time soon for travel related reasons or to wind up in the north region juniors through relegation), so that was going to take careful negotiation rather than bombastic declarations about supposed verbal promises of what could happen as soon as season 2019/20. If Burnie_man's version of events is accurate, the moratorium on accepting new applications for licensing was clearly only aimed at clubs that choose to remain in the SJFA and joining the so-called pyramid means joining the EoS or this new WoS (...nobody seem s to care about north of the Tay, unfortunately, and that's not a good thing obviously). The existing full SFA members don't want a massive influx of up to 160 SJFA members into full membership, but do want something functional and fit for purpose to exist in both the east and the west below the SPFL south of the Tay, so we'll probably eventually see the scenario that garrelburn tends to peddle on here where the stronger junior clubs stay legitimately semi-pro in a revamped structure and the rest drift off over time towards an amateur sort of status.

The HFL will just need to get on with it or be disbanded then. The SPFL and others drew the line at or around the Tay. If a Dundee based club fancies a crack at the pyramid then the HFL will just need to suck it up. Those Dundee teams didn't make the rules. It's blindingly obvious that the travel will be significant but hey ho.

The problem with regard to clubs north of the Tay, is that the SFA's pyramid boundary between the Highland and Lowland Leagues, is not the same as the one operated currently by the SJFA. This is further complicated by the the different geographical areas for the EoS (which doesn't include clubs north of the Tay),  and the Junior East Region. This boundary is something which the PWG should review as a priority over the next 12 months.

Think what will be needed to break that particular logjam is another licensing application from a junior club from the old Tayside region that is based north of the midpoint of the Tay Road Bridge. That's rumoured to be likely over the next couple of years. Until then it's all about hypotheticals and there is no real onus on the powers that be to address the issue, if Banks o' Dee and Golspie Sutherland are happy where they are.

In the SJFA's "questionnaire", didn't BoD support joining the pyramid ?

It's hardly the Highland leagues fault if no-one engages with them about forming a feeder league of some sort.

They have not had to knock back any advances up to now.

If a feeder does emerge then the HL is protected by stricter requirements to join.

I don't really see Lochee Utd, Broughty or Carnoustie pushing to form said league

Who else possibly could ?

All will be revealed at SJFA EGM in June

Why come on here and make statements that you admit might not be 100 per cent correct? You seem to be obsessed with ridiculing junior football from someone who in the past referred to the Lowland League as a busted flush whilst ridiculing the East of Scotland League it reeks of hypocrisy.

Pure speculation designed to undermine junior clubs. Clubs should wait until they are advised of the. Official facts instead of rumours

Obviously I am just a poster on a forum and you can believe what you want, but I believe that Craigroyston will be playing their football in the EOS next year.

Since when did this forum demand everything posted was guaranteed to be 100% correct?  I'm happy that it is and someone above has agreed it is.

I'm not ridiculing anyone I'm passing on information from a meeting, you're the one having a hissy fit.

Tommy spoke to the big man and he's extremely embarrassed by his behavior, he didn't even know he had been on P&B until a friend phoned him at his work. His wife says he should actually be clinically dead after what he drunk, but unfortunately he has vowed not to come back.
Tell him to come back, I disagreed with about 90% of what he posted on here but he was good entertainment.

When does this new league start?

Another task for the PWG. Not just about timescale, but also about the sensitive issue of West Juniors & the SoSFL, and the offer of the EoS to 'organise'  the setup ?

The PWG's minutes from 10/5 may give some guidance about the West and North situations, but if not, it must be addressed over the next 12 months IMO.
