An odd blood'n'snotters game in the Junior Cup this afternoon. Pumphy stated brightest and had the visitors under pressure before Rangers went ahead with a well taken shot - he should have been closed down but that's another story as at that point the game fired into life. The Pumphy 9 had already hit the side net and was a tad upset about an offside decision in the lead up to the goal and as the teams lined up for the restart words were exchanged with the referee and the centre forwards afternoon ended with a straight red.

Pumphy rather oddly now had the better of the game and Number 11 missed an absolute sitter right in front of the goals and then the Lang keeper saved  7's poor penalty.

Second half and again Pumphy were doing the pressing but lets be honest their final ball into the box was poor and the people up front didn't have the deftness required to prod the ball goalwards when it came their way. Far too many chances getting stuck under peoples feet or being fired over the bar.

Lang then went down to 10 men as well - tackle in the midfield saw the ref run over and pull the red straight out - looked a foul from behind the goal but it didn't look anywhere near a sending off. And at this point a Pumphy team that had battled well against 11 men fell out of the game against 10.

Number 9 then doubled the lead with a mazy run and cool finish - Pumphy pulled one back when they finally played a ball into the box infront of the attackers and it was prodded home, the Number 4 then made a complete hash of the golden opportunity to level the game and powderpuffed a ball wide of the post. Lang then wrapped it up with a penalty about 5 minutes into injury time.

A very enjoyable game, I would say Pumphy will be kicking themselves for going out of the cup this afternoon but they'd miss the kick. The eferee wasn't the best for either team - there seemed to be a 15 minute or so period in the second half where he was whistling for the fun of it at everything.

Result
Troon 3-2 Cambuslang Rangers.
Disappointment for Camby today as they suffered defeat at the hands on Troon.
Truth be told, the game should have been done in the first 30mins as Lang strolled it.
Lang went in front via Hastings, back from his loan spell at Cumnock, with a fine finish after good link up play.
Lang were awarded a pen when McRobbie was tripped. The wee striker stepped up to take the kick but the Troon keeper saved well but could only push the ball to the feet of McRobbie following up but he somehow blasted over the bar.
Lang the squandered a few chances and Troon keeper produced some fine stops.
Then it all went wrong as Troon levelled with their first attempt at goal and then took a surprising lead into the break.
The home side extended that advantage with a third. Lang pulled a goal back via a fine finish for Gemmell.
End to end stuff at the end but Lang were unable to grab an equaliser and left with nothing.
