What you will pay - a guide for away fans

With Alloa and Ayr gone so goes any away terracing.

All grounds away ends are seated with St Mirren, QOS, Livi and Dumbarton putting fans at the side and Falkirk, Utd, Morton, Brechin, Inverness and Dunfermline having away fans behind the goal.

Seems mental that there can be such a difference in prices when the only difference seems to be view.

Are they changing things at the Glebe like? They terracing down the side with the hedge and a covered terrace behind the opposite goal from the David Will Stand. Even if they are operating segregation, you'll be able to stand at the sideline as there's a gate at the half way line that can be closed.

I always sat behind the goal at Brechin.

Much the same with Brechin you could argue St Mirren and Morton have the option of both behind the goal and wing.

But not terracing, which is what you were lamenting the lack of...

There is away terracing at Palmerston for any club bringing more than circa 900 fans. Granted its fairly unlikely to be needed this coming season though a late season important visit from St Mirren, Falkirk or United might see a need I suppose.

Let's talk facilities.

A game of football is a game of football. Never really given a shit about "facilities". If anything the shitter the better as more chance of getting a hipper in and having a smoke.

Would argue the facilities on offer eg pitch side seats toilets and food stalls in the stand are better at Dumbarton than they are at ICT so who is taking piss with pricing?

You get a pint in the stand at Brechin so again better than anything going on at Tannadice.

What facilities do people actually want?

perhaps what he meant to say is why with a population of 45,000 in Greenock (with hardly any other clubs in the area) compared with 32,000 in Falkirk (surrounded by local clubs and with hibs and hearts pulling support away as well as the old firm) why have Morton got such a poor support? maybe they should let kids in for free, it could work wonders for your support?

The fact that so many people drive past Cappielow on a Saturday to go to Ibrox/Celtic Park means that we do suffer badly from having the OF so close to us. I quite often drive past the Celtic supporters club on the main road in Greenock on a Saturday and there are sometimes up to 8 buses waiting to take Celtic supporters to wherever they are playing. It;s a massive issue for Morton.

Up here in Inverness we suffer badly from Rangers and Celtic full stop, never mind Greenock being just along the Clyde a few miles from the ugly sisters, its the same for everyone all over the country.

Yup. There are quite a few buses that leave Dunfermline to go Celtic and Sevco games each weekend.

Hold up; what's this?! I've been to see us play at The Glebe quite a few times and have never heard of this. Some elaboration is required

Last season the club opened up the 1983 Lounge, which is normally the hospitality lounge, to some of the friendlies and midweek games as an open pay bar to all fans while still operating as the hospitality lounge at half time for anyone who paid.

This year, however, the club is making the lounge open to all from 1pm before the match and after the game (not sure whats happening at half time).  Presumably they will have the gate folk on from 1pm rather than 2 to get your ticket for the match prior to going into the lounge.  There's also BT Sport in there so will be a match on most weeks.  Failing that it'll either be Rugby or Bargain Hunt on Council Telly

Just posting out a thought but wouldn't it be great if say the SPFL could work a deal with Scotrail to allow for discounted travel prices for matchday ticket holders.

The price of transport in Scotland is a far bigger issue to me than a couple of quid here and there at the actual grounds.

How will that work with segregation We have a bar in the ground and have always been told that away supporters can't get in because of segregation

That's only because of the toilets, mind.

If you're in the bar you need to go into the stand toilets, which would mean you're in the home end, or across into the hospitality toilets at which point you're crossing the reception, milling about the staff, officials, managers offices & a door away from the tunnel. It's not because the fans would be together in the one place, just because there's no where to pee.

You've heard it here first folks. £20 for the spoon burners, cheaper for everyone else.

Well done fuddies.
