Between the Dugouts
Eight Weeks. Next Monday evening Largs are due to play Auchinleck in their final league match. Largs are relegated and Auchinleck cannot win the League. Eight weeks has elapsed since our previous league match against Beith. This game could have, should have, been played in the two to three weeks after the Junior Cup Semi’s. But no, forgot about with no apology (a couple of paragraphs in Evening Times is not unreasonable) and no chance of any financial recompense. Why should anybody turn up to watch ? Why should the teams even bother ? THERE HAS TO BE CHANGES MADE AT THE WEST AGM. And those of you reading this and thinking it does not affect me. Well let be clear, if there is no Change then next season it could be your team, or the season after that or the season after that or……………….. bc57
Totally unreasonable and without any logic or consideration of the implications for those involved.
GordonS
You're absolutely right. On the other hand, I can think of much worse things to do on a summer's evening than head down to Largs. Maybe a wee stop in Nardini's beforehand. If it's a nice night this would be a really appealing game, so hopefully you'll get a good turnout regardless. archieb
Hopefully good weather and as many neutrals as possible will get along to this game as an act of solidarity with Largs, not just to support Nardinis

tamthebam
almost as meaningless as an oft postponed League cup sectional match between two teams that didn't qualify that was played in the East Region a few seasons ago on the same day as the semi-finals.... Baxter's Nutmeg
This does nothing for the credibility of the Junior game. The scheduling of fixtures this season has been a shambles, and if they don't fix it going forward good people will be lost to the game.
Mattmc
Thought Talbot brought millions in gate revenue to the league. On a more serious note the fixture set up is a real shambles. Would it be worth the teams taking a stance and not bothering playing it?
Arch Stanton
It's an odd numbered year (no WC or Euros) so not much other football around. Marketed properly this could be a big draw. How much is admission?

How much is admission? £6 adults, £3 concessions, Under-16s go free - cracking programme (6th best in Scottish non-league) £1.50, cracking cuisine, Nardini's and the Blue Lagoon jist doon the road! #theesel
GordonS
Train from Glasgow Central 5.49pm, back on the 9.52pm, getting into Glasgow at 10.54pm. £9.40 return. That's got to beat whatever's on telly.
cmontheloknow
This could be marketed as a pre-pre-season friendly!

You could pay people to go to this and it would still be just the hard-core in attendance.

fan of the juniors
Surprised that Largs could afford to still have a squad after nearly 2 months without a game . Assume that they would have to pay wages the last x amount of weeks .
