Hibs, like Aberdeen, Dundee Utd and various other Scottish clubs benefitted when HBOS wanted to get out of football. Broadly, "you want out? No problems, discount the debt"

It's a long, long list but some of them are absolutely shameful....

British Red Cross £76

BIG Hearts Community Trust £589

Herriot Watt £145,655

HoMFC Shareholder Association £5,030

Lady Haigs Poppy Fund £185

McCraes Battalion Trust £100

Scottish Police Authority £18,585

Scottish Ambulance Services £2,454

St Andrews First Aid £364

City of Edinburgh Council £90,715

City of Edinburgh Council (for flats) £2,631

And the Council still bends over backwards to help them.

You got a list of people hibs stiffed when they were liquidated in 1990 and Farmer bought the football part of the business. Thanks in advance  :)

That was as a result of the property crash ya dafty.

Duff and Gray made some poor decisions, but giving Mercer the middle finger was one of their better choices.

Christ, do I need to do a history lesson now?

Farmer bought shares in a poorly performing company which required capital which he provided.

He bought it as an ongoing concern, it wasnt liquidated or put into administration - so no list of "bumped people" exists

I offer you a greenie, should you manage the impossible and come up with one though !!

Yeah give me a history lesson, who settled the “huge” debts Hibs had ran up?

He didn’t buy a poorly performing company he bought the club from the company (which wasn’t just poorly performing it was in receivership and would later be liquidated) and formed a new company.

Whether that would constitute the moral high ground today is debatable but luckily this was acceptable In the ‘90s before Ranger triggered an outbreak of moral piety on such matters

No idea, to be honest.

They might have just seen the Dubai picture of Mclaren and Kamberi together and put 2+2 together. I read somewhere today that our option runs out 14th June, so we need to get it done pronto.

I’m sure they confirmed Stokes coming back before anything official was announced last summer.

Kamberi on a perm deal would be absolutely glorious 0B7A98C9-5984-4EAC-9065-273DFBDD06E5.jpeg.a52532379b6e0caed73ed092d9413479.jpeg

I'm intrigued by you asking other people for the evidence to back up your argument. You're the one making the claim that Hibs ran up a huge debt and stiffed/bumped people. It's really on you to produce this list that you're after.

Or even better still, don't because who gives a f**k. For just one time in the year, can we all ditch the Standard Grade Business Management slavering and focus on stalking other grown men's social media  bQshDtu.png

Aye, it was on this thread before it got hijacked by yon Jambo numpty.

I think the Kamberi situation is as follows:

  • He would like to go to England (who wouldn't? $$$), but we're not sure if there's concrete interest from there yet
  • Hibs really want him, he liked it there and it's a good stepping stone to England
  • If he lets the Hibs option expire, then Grasshoppers would have full control over him again
  • He really doesn't want to go back to Grasshoppers

IMO he will sign for Hibs unless someone actually makes an offer for him in the next 10 days or so. Hibs might have to give him a good deal where he can go after a year if there is an offer, like Cummings did.
