The fitness and attacking flair we have is fine against part timers but the team is still a bit makeshift and short of a few players - could get found out in a few areas at Tynecastle. The Hearts game might be a chance to try more defensive and "robust" approach, of the type we might look to use in some of the tougher away games this season. By robust I mean the Triple Towers of Morris, Wedderburn and M'Voto booting f**k out of everyone.

Sorry about the "minks",,,was a reference to the state a few of your fellow fans were in last time you played up here..Not that it bothers me , i love the fact that teams bring a support up at all to such an out of the way town..The upside is that it causes less East Fife fans to turn up and sing that "garden shed " shite song:lol:.

Of course, getting relegated should also have helped with that.;)

That was a weird one yesterday, if Hearts had gone in 3-0 up at half-time you wouldn't have heard a complaint from any of the East Fife fans there, such was Hearts' superiority in the first period, they absolutely pummelled us and if it wasn't for the fact their forward line couldn't hit a coo's erse with a banjo it could have been very embarrassing!!!

Different story second half, we change it a little and it's a more even game, although Hearts always looking bigger and dangerous they didn't get it all their own way and we started pegging them back in their own box and then they go and score on the break and its effectively game over, the late penalty WAS a penalty, no complaints about it all but it did put a rather unfair reflection on the final score!!!

Anyway, well done Hesrts you did deserve the win, just make sure you score at least 3 versus Dunfermline!!!

Goals from yesterday.

Thought it wasn't a bad performance yesterday, a bit concerned with how many chances we wasted but hopefully it's just a case of sharpening up.  Brilliant to see Souttar back considering the original estimate was October.

The rain the second half was biblical, completely ruined the game for a spell.

I'm almost certain we've never won at Tynecastle in the entire history of the universe.

Should be a fierce and keenly contested battle between 2 financially sound clubs.

4-0 Hearts and a bonus moral point to Dunfermline.

Dunfermline have won six times (edit: against Hearts) at Tynecastle:

  • 2-1 on 30th April, 1927
  • 1-0 on 5th January, 1935
  • 2-1 on 2nd January, 1968
  • 3-2 on 14th August, 1974
  • 2-1 on 4th October, 1989
  • 2-0 on 10th February, 1990

The one in bold was a League Cup group stage match, lads. The rest were all in the league.
