Was in the opposition dug out for the game last night....sorry to hear about Liam Watts injury..he landed right in front of us and it looked a bad one right away...the lad was obviously in a lot of pain...we wish him all the best in his recovery.
Also thanks for the game it was a decent run out for both sides.

FB update saying he has a broken wrist.  Looking at an estimated 6 week recovery period.  :(

Nightmare, Watt is going to be a huge player for us this season so it's a blow that we'll have to start it without him. We need all of our key players available if we are to have any chance of staying up as it's becoming clear we are going into the season with a similar budget to last year.

Fairly routine win. Montrose were missing a few players and we had a fair few trialists especially towards the end so can't really read too much into it. We controlled the game and looked as if we could have gone up a gear or two at any time. We looked like scoring every time we went forward early in the second half but the usual flurry of substitutions took the tempo out the game.

Onto a bigger test Tuesday then straight into the deep end at Inverness on Saturday! Feels like the shortest close season ever.

We were looking good against a poor understrength Montrose team..A few trialists on again but hard to judge in twenty mins or so..It could ve been 6 or 7 but Mont has school laddies on park

A tenner to watch Montrose under 15's seems bit steep:thumbsdown and what did our manager learn about trialists playing against a team of youngsters

Never read too much into pre season games - it really is about getting back up to speed and trying some systems / players out. Not Darren's fault Montrose did nae have a full strength squad.

7 and 8 looked the best of the trialists.

We do need to create a bit more going forward - other than that I agree with other observations of the game.

Never said it was his fault about Montrose's team I just wonder what he can learn about trialists playing against a bunch of youngsters playing for a second division team :)

7 and 8 looked pretty good, confident they'll get signed, to be fair, all the trialists looked like they'd do a job and if we are going to be short of players we could maybe make most of having some squad players.

If what I'm informed is correct, the number 8 is experienced and has played much of his career in the premier league. He's been out of Scotland for a few years now so not sure what he's like now but certainly the calibre of player we need to be bringing in if we are to have any chance of staying up.

Kalvin Orsi was actually with St.Mirren last season. Watched him a few times in our U- 20's and looked quite decent. Made it into our first team squad a few times before being put out on loan to Queens Park mid-season. Didn't seem to be able to make the step up required. Although, I'd seriously doubt that any young player could have flourished with the shite that Rae left us with.

Paddy Cregg was a player I was disappointed we released a few years ago, unless he's fallen off a cliff he should cope down here no bother.
