HTG Posted December 29, 2017 Share Posted December 29, 2017 For most folk, a look out the window would tell you all you need to know about why this game is off. 1. We don't have full pitch covers. Partial pitch covers can help deal with areas in shade but we lost the HoB game to a very similar weather pattern in early December. 2. The really cold stuff was supposed to kick in from Boxing Day but we got snow on Christmas night and a severe frost. If the sensible people on here expect us to give up our Christmas Day with family then they're misguided. 3. We put the covers down a couple of weeks back to try and ensure we got a game if Oakley was off as a result of a short cold snap. We lifted them when it became apparent that the game would be on. I realise that for some of you this is a perennial fishing trip so I'll not humour you any further. The pitch was inspected earlier in the week. It was unplayable with further frost and snow forecast. We want to play the game. We've had 3 games at home since August. We all know this was a cracking game to line up for this time of year. As Tynie says, there are teams with far greater resources than us calling games off tonight which are due to be played tomorrow. BSC are supposed to be playing tonight at Alloa but the artificial surface is frozen. Hamilton couldn't manage earlier in the week. But f**k it, it's all got to be some massive conspiracy.
