Thank PBB. Allows more of an educated prediction. Match 1: Arctic Fox to take the first fixture. The firm fans favourite (Billy) goat will receive no support from the crowd and I think the ref could be influenced. Home win. Match 2: Bear should win their game. And this is why, McDairmid is about 2.5 miles to the river I think? Seems a long way for the seals to drag themselves along the road. Doesn't bode well. Match 3: Gazelle. All day, gazelle. Penguins will be fucked from waddling about all day, 19:45 does not suit them. Match 4: the tie of the round, for me. Two strong competitors, neutral venue. Depends which bear (black, brown, grizzly, teddy, grylls) turns up on the day. Got to go for the more reliable hippo on this occasion. Edit: f**k sake. Hippo is playing gorilla not bear. I've totally fucked this. I'll stick with hippo and learn from this. My wrote up for the next round will be better. I owe it to the people. Arctic Fox - Goat Goat sneaks it on penalties after a 3-3 draw. “We’re just taking it one game at a time. We’re focused on the next one right now. We’re not looking ahead. No wait, we are.” (Goat) Bear - Seal Bear destroys Seal 6-0. Like Germany-Brazil at WC14, but worse. A searing indictment on Seal. “I’m just happy to be here. As long as I keep doing my job, everything will take care of itself.” (Bear) Penguin - Gazelle Penguin out-thinks, out-plays and out-muscles Gazelle. A 3-0 drubbing. “At the end of the day … it is what it is.” (Gazelle) Hippo - Gorilla Stopped after 65 minutes with Hippo dead. "Happy with that. I went out and executed." NorthernJambo
Arctic Fox 6 v 5 Goat Bear 7 v 4 Seal Penguin 10 v 1 Gazelle Hippo 6 v 5 Gorilla A thrilling round of fixtures with only one non competitive game, but notice all the 'home' teams went through though. FIFA investigation pending, I assume! Match fixing? Bungs? Disappointing to see the competition dragged in to disrepute like this.
Duszek
Nice, this sets things up for a Bear-Penguin final, the fixture neutrals want to see. Arctic Fox-Hippo would be a ratings disaster.

NorthernJambo
Semi-final day is upon us. All four have done well to get this far but nobody can be arsed with a 3rd Place playoff so a win is imperative. Arctic Fox v Bear, 19:45, Easter Road: a classic stitch up here. Bear playing in front of his home crowd at Easter Road. Easter Road the ground where a certain John Hughes was famed. John Hughes. John Yogi Hughes. Yogi. Yogi the bear. Bear. Bear to win. Penguin v Hippo, 8pm (sky sports 2), San Siro: finally the broadcasters get behind this tournament. Not being on tv has helped attendances but a wider public have missed out. Hippo had a tough game last time out and fatigue starts to set in at these stages. Penguin ran riot against Gazelle (who suffered due to the match fixing) but have they peaked too soon? This writer thinks so. Hippo minus a goal would be my bet.
