Who knows mate.

Just a rumour could be nothing in it. But good to hear good things about the guy if it does end up happening.

Heard it is genuine. Big blow to Berwick if true.

Last night told me that we need to keep McKenna, Pat won't be missed, we need some specialist strikers and a better coaching regime for how we use our good players to break down a lumbering defence.

All things that will test the capability and abilities of the manager, assistant manager, 1st team coach, development team manager and 2 assistant managers on the payroll, to retain our talent, attract new talent and improve results.

I've often said how important the long term plan is for our progression as a club; but maintaining (and not declining) is vital to have viable platform to build from.

Not yet time for the 'crunch time' or 'crisis' rhetoric, the management team is still relatively new; but what we do during, and how we perform after this window will be a litmus test of our new regime.

Struth. It's no better watching it again whilst sober.

Some really good chances went begging, and 2 awful goals against in the 2nd half.

I thought mackinlay had a good game till I saw his part in those 2 goals.

The second and third are unbelievable. MacKinlay's reaction at the second is a disgrace.

Attention seeking local ref's permittting, we now have successive home games, both winnable.

Pivotal time for Robbie Horn. Surely some new faces will come in this week. I get that loanees coming in depend on the timing of existing loanees going out, but actual signings need to be made now.

14 goals for, is lamentable and this groundhog day of frustration and embarrassment for Berwick fans has to end. We are excruciating to watch, so God knows what it is like for our better players to play in, as chances go begging and new methods of presenting comedy goals to the opposition are invented every week.

Meanwhile, more talk of financial doom and gloom once again raises the question of our Board of Director's  fiscal competence. We've had 10 years of our own version of austerity and it doesn't work here, either.

The Chairman and the Manager both have slots to talk to the fans at the Supporters Trust AGM on 20 Jan. Hope they can give some reassurance, but next Saturday at home to Annan is crucial. At least one new forward - pleeeeeeease!

Happy New Year, folks

I think that’s too harsh on Robbie in all honesty. The frustration of being in this 10 or so year rut cannot be held against him, so for me it’s certainly not Groundhog Day and I’m not embarrassed. The problems with the team are obvious and he’s only had 6 days of a transfer window, with two of them being game days. Expecting him to convert this group of players in to a playoff hunting force in 3/4 months is unrealistic imo.

The home record has been pretty good and the away record awful, but we’ve played 11 away and 7 at home. I don’t especially find us awful to watch, but we are toothless and also lack leadership at the back. Hardly a great combination. They’re inherited problems for the manager and he’s barely had a chance yet to correct them.

As for financial doom, without cup runs we’re going to make a loss. We can look at other avenues to increase income and reduce costs, like the successful sponsorship process in the summer, but we need to be realistic too. I don’t think there are many easy answers to make a club profitable at this level without someone pumping some money in.

Woaahhh there! None of that was meant as a criticism of Robbie Horn.

Just a moment-in-time  observation from a  fan after several years of shite, and 2 more away defeats without a goal. Robbie will move in the transfer market soon. Just begging it to be this week - we surely have to have another option up front v Annan. I think Robbie is potentially the best manager we've had for years, and I agree that it will be a slow process to turn this flaccid and accident prone team around.

The Board have been adventurous in first appointing Colin Cameron, and then making Coughlin full time. So they are prepared to make big decisions, it's just that they have all miserably failed. It would be nice to know why they think that is so. Lots of theories, but I've no real idea what it is. Player budgets? Geography? Luck?

Certainly need at least one striker in and I’d suggest an experienced centre back, but it’s still very early in the window. I’ve seen a few on twitter saying players are ready to be signed, so hopefully we’ll see something happen over the next week.

There’s clearly been issues regarding the clubs reputation and geography in the past and there was plenty thoughts in last seasons ‘post-mortems’ on here which it’s pointless repeating, but I’d like to think Robbie will be able to address a lot of the onfield problems. Despite the poor away record, I actually think we’ve over achieved this season compared to what I was expecting from the squad we have. Hopefully with 11 home games left and some signings, we can start looking upwards again.

Looks like Berwick have signed Declan O'Kane from Musselburgh and heard striker Jack Hamilton on loan at Penicuik from Livingston coming.

Any idea what either are like? O'Kane rings a bell but can't mind seeing much of him.

When is Horn going to bring Paul Willis home?

Am sure we had O'kane on loan from dunfermilne a few years ago looked solid enough back then.

O’kane was at east fife for a couple seasons solid enough player at league 2 level. He was a centre half but also played centre mid sometimes. Sounds as if Willis will be leaving this month not playing much and hasn’t really been great all season, doesn’t help with fans always on his back though.
