Brechin City v Raith Rovers - There And Back Again

Recommended Posts

Just watched the  highlights; another shocking penalty decision against us. He just bounced off Big Jock. Highlights also suggest we bossed things overall. Hopefully finish the job on Saturday.

You've got to be kidding hedge !!! The ball comes off the defenders leg and Jackson just hits the floor. Clear dive. We have had none , nada , f**k all penalties this season and the ones we get against , this and last week are a fucking joke. Same shite ref on Saturday as well ..

The ball is nowhere near the defender. Jacko clipped it past him and turned him like a kipper.

It's no much wonder you lot don't get penalties when Skacel behaves like he did last night. Now that was diving . No ifs , no buts.

Penalty is the basic big centre half v wee forward.

wee forward kicks ball passed big centre half, then falls over.

ref immediately sees the trip and thinks "that big lad might win everything in the air but he is a bit of a bombscare otherwise "

PENALTY

FTFY

To be fair, falling over or going down like he's been shot has worked in our favour more times than his legs this season.

Totally agree, but que sera sera.

The number of dud calls we've had this season are amazing, the ghost goal v Q of S, goals disallowed, stone wall penalties not given, sheesh! It's been quite incredible really.

However, let's  go for it on Saturday, good crowd right behind the Rovers and get the team roared into the Finals.

Wonder who the Ref is on Saturday!!!

It's Alan Muir. Looking at his record, he's only ref'd two games for us this season. The 2-0 win over the Pars and a 0-0 draw away to Dumbarton.

Pretty incredible that we didn't get that penalty last night. It's as a clear a hand ball as you'll see. If Bene's on Saturday was a handball then it's got the be the same rule for that. Obviously different referees will give differently though.

Fans will always back decisions for their own team, whether just through tinted glasses or wind ups. The Queens fans were adamant that the Dobbie free kick earlier this season cross the line when the footage showed otherwise.

Either way, hopefully on Saturday we can play in an attacking manner as we did towards the end.

You guys are getting desperate now.  If last night is any indication of how you played all season it is little wonder you are in the position you are in now.  To blame the ref for you lot being shite is going a bit far.

Yogi has shown his true spiteful colours with the Bobby Barr issue.  He would have turned that game last night .

To answer question s about crowds etc we average a paltry 400 i d say ... Dods tatic s are horrendous last night made it 5 wins outta 19 games now and its just not enjoyable to watch ..  But we ve made play offs which we do almos t every year apart from last season when we had an enjoyable 10 game run and completed The Great Escape by playing good football ... We have decent ball players in the team but our tatics are now big defenders win it and hoof it up too Jacko who then recieves a whack ... And ball come s back to our defenders ..

We ve had horrendous luck with injuries although dont know why Hill was nt playing last night ..

Looking forward to saturday been to Stark s a lot I remember old first division day s when you guys were goin down and we finished 5th yous hammered us 6 0 last game of season ... Jim Kerr scored a hat trick been @ 84....We signed him following season...

Be nice to take a couple hundred thru on Saturday but out committee don t really push things and try to build up support im afraid ...

Will let you off Mvoto didn't hit the ball but he never touched the diver either !! It's a continued gripe from our fans and with the season we have had you would begin to understand. The b

The bad ref decisions are endless along with a useless board of directors and a manager who sounds like a drunken bum.

Like most other teams, we could give a list of bad decisions against us over a season. They say the decisions even out over the year but every team feels they have been on the wrong end of more decisions than favourable ones. I agree that last night's ref was rubbish, but we're getting used to that.
I have to agree that the 'handball" was a definite penalty, but the other claims were clear dives and should have been punished.
Looking forward to us having some players back for Saturday so we have at least some options on he bench.

Bobby Barr has been absolutely awful the second half of the season and quite rightly deserves to be nowhere near the first team. Going by Yogi's preferred formation of 4-2-3-1...I wouldn't drop McManus( who is on form at the minute) or Handling( who is by far our most, technically gifted player) for Bobby Barr.

Johnny Court deserves his shot up front now as he's been watching on the sidelines all season our inept forwards who couldn't score in a brothel, our highest scorer this season had 6 before the weekend, he now has 8. Court deserves his shot.

That leaves Skacel's position, I'd rather put Hardie or Mark Stewart in there before even considering Barr at the minute.

Barr's attitude stinks as well.

We can play a bit of football but it's not been the way this season. We don't hav any height up top at all but persist to pump high balls. So I think we've suffered for that. I'm looking forward without being over expecting. I was disappointed in the route one tactics by the rovers, not a lot of football from a full time side that's probably been their undoing this season. Hope it's a good game on sat. Mon the City

Just watched the highlights. That penalty decision, man

What does the ref think has happened there? It's hit his hand, quite clearly. They're both above his head too, so it's not as if he might not have seen it. Incredible.

Ref had the cheek to claim it hit his chest.

Clumpy from M Voto to be honest. He has been our weak link (one of many Tho) for the past wee while.

I was thinking about this earlier. As much as he's been excellent for a lot of the season, he's had mistakes (or been involved in 'incidents') in the games against Hibs, St Mirren and now Brechin based on how it's ended up. He'll mop up anything in the air, but it's a bit worrying.
