GiGi
Kinda reminded me of the semi final vs Aberdeen. Fans walking out the ground wishing each other well. Fair enough the winners being very magnanimous but it does stick in your throat, Ignoring the whoppers on each side I''ll wish Dundee Utd the best in the games to come but I don't have the stomach for any more football this season. Bring on the summer.
Zetterlund
Wato Kuate seems like a great lad in his interviews. Looking at his career to date it seems that was his first ever goal. He'll certainly remember that one, absolute zinger.

He does seem like a decent player, he strolled through the three games this week.
Ludo*1
I love Duffy and even went as far as touting him as a potential replacement to Hartley, but does he still play the same turgid style of trying to clear the ball to the flanks and hope the wingers put pressure on the opposition's wing-backs? Brutal style of play that turns into hoofball and usually doesn't suit the players he has. When he allows the players to play with a bit of freedom, he's a class act, when he implements his 'style' on a team it turns into some right turgid stuff. When we get the ball down and play football we can be unstoppable and brilliant to watch at times, but we do tend to revert back to hoof ball which doesn't really work when you have no height up front. Gibby82
Kuate is some boy. What a celebration. Adebayore'd the f**k out of everyone. Good luck to Morton next year whether we play you or not, fans were great.

Aufc
Jim Duffys suit was tremendous. Looked like he has rolled into Burtons just before the game. Morton just had no threat whatsoever. However, that Kudos boy looks less shite that he did when i first watched him a few years back

Poet of the Macabre
I'm sure Morton will be delighted with 4th, even though they got pumped silly by a bang average United team. Back to normality and mid table/relegation battle next season though. Everyone that thought Jim Duffy was shite and then thought he was great will go back to thinking he was shite again. Dunning1874
Duffy got the personnel right and the system wrong. I could see the logic in packing the midfield after the amount of space Flood and Kuate had in the second half at Cappielow, but all it achieved was isolating Oliver - high balls to Gary Oliver against Edjenguele and Durnan - and in turn made us even more toothless from open play than usual. Oyenuga up front was the only realistic option, particularly with the frequency of the hoofball. United had no problem soaking up the pressure, we predictably coughed up a goal through abysmal defending and the tie was done, with United strolling it from then on. I get that people wanted to show their appreciation for the season as a whole, but praising the team to the point of almost celebrating a 5-1 pumping in a winnable tie really sticks in the throat. It's a Tartan Army-esque, just happy to be here, diddy team mentality when we should be asking serious questions about why the season derailed so badly that we went from being clear favourites for second place to our worst run of results in 17 years in the space of two months. It was a season that had the potential to be great but has ultimately ended up being no more or less than decent: while the cup run was great we got nowhere near promotion, we ended on a run of 11 games without a win and we actually finished closer to 5th than we did to 3rd, closer to 9th than we did to 1st. We can hero-worship the club for this decent season and say no one deserves anything but praise, or we can demand improvement so we actually build on this and make a serious promotion challenge in the future. Lichtie78
Sat gobsmacked for a good 30 seconds after Kuate let that absolute hoormeister of a shot loose. His celebration made the whole thing just seem surreal, couldn't believe what was going on also, the Jerry Kerr is possibly the most uncomfortable stand in Scottish football
jessie james
We were never going to win in the play offs. The team has been without any meaningful strike force since the injuries and have ground out games by set play goals and Forbes adding occasional glimpses of quality. A young team supplemented with young loanees have punched well above their weight and done well to secure 4th. The challenge will be next season and whether the board will open the coffers and try and bring in some quality in key areas and build the team and accept that they cannot continue to depend on loan system to sustain the club long term and expect to win back the fan base again. Well done to the Team for a decent season with the Cup run and play offs - anyone thinking we could have done more with the squad we had is delusional. More than over achieved. Mon the Ton. See you next season Arabs - Over 2 legs Falkirk will cruise this !! [emoji106]

Well done to the Team for a decent season with the Cup run and play offs - anyone thinking we could have done more with the squad we had is delusional. More than over achieved. Mon the Ton. See you next season Arabs - Over 2 legs Falkirk will cruise this !! See, this is exactly what I'm talking about when I say our fans have a diddy team mentality. Why were we never going to win in the playoffs? Our record v Dundee United prior to this was W1 D3 L1, with the win and defeat being decided by one goal. All tight games. Our record v Falkirk was W2 D3, with two of the draws having stoppage time Falkirk equalisers. Why then do we just accept that getting pumped was an inevitability, be happy that we got there and not look critically at why we didn't actually manage to win once we did? If losing Jai Quitongo and Gary Oliver not recovering his form after injury left us without a meaningful strikeforce, we should be asking why we failed to build a squad with any strength in depth. Duffy signed McDonagh, Oyenuga and Scullion, in January he gave extended contracts to Oyenuga and Scullion and added Shankland and Donnelly as well. It's not an unavoidable situation to sign five strikers and have none of them come close to being good enough: if we'd done better in summer or in January, the injuries didn't have to be as big a problem as they were. It's evidently not delusional to think we could have done more than go 11 games without a win with this squad, because we were capable of being the form team in the league earlier in the season. It's evidently not delusional to think we could have done better than lose 5-1 on aggregate to Dundee Utd, because we were capable of competing with them earlier in the season. That we did go 11 games without a win and we did get utterly dismantled in the playoffs is a cause for concern that we should be trying to learn lessons from the future, not something we should shrug off and say 'ach, we're just happy to be there, little diddy clubs like us can't expect any better.' It's a mentality that encourages failure and it's a total cop out.
UnitedLoon63
Get Kuate signed up next season rapid, some goal and celebration. Murdoch tho was man of the match! 4-4-2 is far better than 4-2-3-1 normal pish. Flood thought was poor, Spittal where has these performances been for the past 2 years???Think we will draw at home on Tuesday, then anything could happen away from home.
