He didn't say they average those figures, he said they "regularly get more than", which depends on your definition of "regularly", I suppose. I'd say he's right, a few times a season the big Juniors get over a thousand, and Pollok have had some whopping crowds this season.

Comparing clubs highest crowds with other clubs average isn't exactly a fair comparison.

Spence seems to be up to his usual standard of knowing just enough to pretend he is knowledgeable but struggling to get his facts right. Talk of floodlights being needed etc

I think it is a fair comparison. He's saying that they're not far behind, which is fair enough.

The only thing in his report that's wrong is the reference to floodlights, but they are needed for L2 so it's relevant for the more ambitious clubs.

“Just now we have well over 200 kids associated with Kennoway teams at all the age groups.”

All Kennoway Star Hearts Football teams will wear the exact same colour of strips, training kit and tracksuits, with the club recently opening up an online shop with ACA Sports where parents, family members and supporters can buy official Kennoway merchandise.

Fife Council have also been contacted as the clubs aims to ensure Cotlands Park and Sandy Brae within the village are kept in top condition for training and playing,

We are also in the process of starting up a girls football team, starting at the 6-9year old age group which we have high hopes for,” added Mr Doctor.

 

 

“Also in training is our newly formed over 35s side that are in the early stages of creation and are organising friendlies at the moment with the ambition of entering the over 35s league.

“Through Bob McPhail’s Kennoway Community Shed, we are also starting up an over 50s walking football for the local community of Kennoway.

“Over the years the village has really got behind the teams so we thought it was time to give something back.

“We are looking for anyone aged 50 and over to come along and get involved and most of all, enjoy. The social side of this is also very important.”

Surely a club like this should be joining the senior ranks, let's hope they get organised for next season and join the EoS.

They have so effectively it's been a takeover of a well run amateur team. Although at least it's been to our benefit because our pitch is being superbly looked after by Star's former groundsman.

And I believe the rental figure for Bayview was the problem. I don't know if that's the end of the matter but I hope so as Treaton Park is a cracking ground.

To wrap this up, in a manner of speaking:

East Region Juniors were left with 36 clubs down from 60... These were from Tayside & Perthshire (18 including Kinnoull), Fife (9 including Tayport) and West Lothian (9). There are no longer any Junior clubs in East Lothian, Midlothian, Edinburgh or Central Scotland... There seem to have been 2 separate proposals: abolishing Superleague and Premier, running  just with 2 districts of 18 clubs each then a title playoff; or abolishing Premier only, and downsizing the Superleague and both districts to 12 clubs each... It's the latter which has been favoured.

As a result the 5 clubs left which played in the Superleague (4 Tayside/1 Fife) plus 7 of the 8 left which played in the Premier (2 Tayside/3 Fife including Tayport/2 West Lothian) comprise the consolidated Superleague. Bathgate wished to step down into the district, and Pumpherston the South district champion didn't want to ascend, leaving Kirriemuir to be reprieved in favour of Dundee NE the North district champion. Remaining clubs from Tayside & Perthshire form North district; those from Fife & West Lothian, including Bathgate, form South district.

If this set-up remains going forth the bottom 2 in Superleague will be relegated; district champions promoted; district runners-up playoff then winner playoff v 10th in Superleague.

East of Scotland Junior Cup is now East Region Junior Cup. There's a new East Region Sectional Cup to be played home-&-away in the middle of the season.

Just when we thought it was all over (for now), the Junior Forum shows that the SJFA has removed the new EoSL clubs from the  end of 2017/18 season's Junior East Region league tables.  Oh dear.
