Polling: 2017 General Election, Council Elections and Independence

Recommended Posts

Tories are def trying to lose this election. Surely.

Let Labour take the flak for our shambles of an exit from the EU.

There can be no other reason for their hilarious fall. The video of May from earlier today when asked about why she wasn't appearing tonight should result in her immediate sacking

They have fucking lost it [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]

I had always thought 47+ seats would be a tremendous result for us. Over 50 would be unbelievable.

Bring it on.

Can't get myself excited at the prospect of Labour doing well to be honest. Absolute arseholes up here. Knowing guys like McDougall, Hothersall and Murray will be over the moon with it is actually annoying me.

f**k them. Only bothered about the SNP doing well. Obviously rather see Corbyn in instead of May but I'll not be getting excited about it. Not feeling the Corbyn love either.

Nae chance o him winning in East Renfrewshire though.

Still have major doubt about Corbyn (if he's so effective now, where wis he the last two years?) but something in me also sees Kezia Dugdale being replaced if Corbyn does very well (none of the Corbyn-ites in Holyrood are particularly good).

Every one of them despises Corbyn. The ideal situation is the SNP holding the balance of power while the boy Corbs ends up PM and Scottish Labour continue to die an overdue death.

For the record this building is a former bank in Helensburgh.  The SNP has leased the ground floor in support of the excellent sitting MP Brendan O' Hara, whilst the floor above is occupied by a company called Perry Golf which specialises in grand golf tours for well-heeled people, one of the few activities which will be left in Scotland once the Britnats are finished with it.

It's escalated...

But now it gets interesting

As far as i'm aware Labour currently have a wee bit of a built in electoral advantage in terms if their urban base vs the Tory rural seats: It takes less votes to elect a Labour MP than it does a Tory one.
Hence the Tories have to generally be a bit ahead just to be level. One reason they are so insistent on changing the seat boundaries up.

It's not just a wee bit but a huge advantage. The Tories need 6% more just to get a majority.

This could change quite a bit this year. There are a lot of heavy remain seats that have healthy Tory majorities that are seen as under threat while the opposite is also true. This might not really be a normal election.
