peasy23
Greenock lost 3-0 to Lanark but it's now showing that Greenock have been awarded a 3-0 win. I put the draw on Facebook and Greenock assistant boss Stevie Dallas replied wondering why they are in the draw so they have no idea what's happened. I'm speculating, but perhaps there was an irregularity with the team sheets ? When we played Glasgow Perthshire a couple of years ago the match was abandoned at half time, yet when the draw for the next round was made it was only us that was announced, not "Glasgow Perthshire or Rutherglen Glencairn". When we queried it, we were informed that Perthshire had ineligible players for the cup tie, so had been expelled from the tournament, but nobody had bothered to tell us. We had been waiting for a date for the rearranged match. It's possible that it's something similar here, but as I said, I'm only speculating. Yowes news
Unfortunately, it is indeed a similar situation. We, Lanark, fielded a 16 year old for the last 10 minutes of the match, with the score already 3-0.We did so under the premise that his boys club had filed the appropriate paperwork, releasing him to play for us. Unfortunately, as it turned out, they had not done this and therefore we have been penalised.Very frustrating as the boy had been training with us for over a month and wasn't just pulled in to make up the numbers on the day. sctv
Surely a losing team only progresses if they've appealed and won the appeal?

I don't think that's the case, the team lines are checked by the powers-that-be and if an unregistered player has played in a cup tie then that's an automatic expulsion. Glencairn didn't appeal a couple of years ago when Perthshire had unregistered players, the first we knew about us being through to the next round was when the draw was made and it didn't say "Glasgow Perthshire or Rutherglen Glencairn". Nobdoy had told us that the game didn't need to be replayed. It appears the same has happened here, as Greenock didn't seem to know why their name appeared in the draw, they thought they were out and it seems that nobody had informed them otherwise. Taxman
Always amazes me that they draw umpteen rounds of a cup & fixture guy can't give us more than two games ahead!!!!!

Young lad came on for a run around at 3 nil to save legs for the league games but, the rules is the rules.
