Lowland League might work if you got rid of some of the fakes and filled it with the bottom half a dozen Central Belt teams from SL2 plus anybody that's interested from the Juniors.

And no lottery play offs.

'Fakes' will only go away if other sides can get licensed and prove themselves better on the pitch.

The last sentence is what this is all about - money.

Dreaming of that game against a Rangers or Celtic and a massive financial boost.

Can't recall many seasons where we have excelled in both junior/senior comps. Last year we went from the high of Ross County to The embarrassment of Kilwinning.

We look to enhance our park with floodlights used a couple of occasions each season whilst watching the quality of player we attract fall.

In doing so the club has failed to notice their fan base is falling dramatically - a Scottish semi and interest is minimal.

Our last appearance the local bowling club took two buses and a mini-bus to the semi - this time there is 2 cars going - 120 bodies lost - nobody at the club seems interested in why people are not going anymore

As a club they need to decide what they actually want instead of dabbling in both. Without fans clubs are nothing.

To be fair, some haven't committed to travelling to the second leg until they see the result of the first leg.  0-5 and it'll be two cars if you're lucky, 2-0 and you'll have your demand for buses.

The Lowland League in time could be the best semi-pro/non league in terms of competing teams and financial rewards. Its whether clubs want to try and compete in that league as quickly as possible or wait.
If the SJFA can move forward and get involved in having clubs licensed and being part of the pyramid then I reckon the present SJFA clubs will have itself under the LL and feed into it.
With clubs falling through the trapdoor in SPFL 2 and the most likely inclusion of Colt teams (wether people agree with it or not) then in time it will be very strong in terms of competing clubs. This will also attract the best players at our level on an already diminishing talent pool.
The SJFA clubs being able to get licensed and part of the pyramid will also give us Junior clubs the shot in the arm and excitement too which will let ambitious clubs flourish and the new dawn may get more people out to games at our level.
Are Kelty looking at all avenues because they want to get into the SPFL?, certainly not. Upon our SFA Licence application we were asked to join the pyramid otherwise it would be refused, we chatted, done our research and continue to do so.
Lowland League at present provides - SFA Licence, Fixture Lists, Will Hill Scot Cup, Irn Bru and Betfred Cup, Prize Money, Play under lights, U20 League etc. are all things that look good to us, why wouldn't it? None of this is open for SJFA clubs.
Exposure and Finance in these kind of National cup competitions and a competitive league can massively help build a club, increased sponsorship money new and old and when you tell them how much exposure they will get.
Im sure Bonnyrigghave a few more coming through their gates due to their great cup run, it breeds more people along and can help build a infrastructure on and off the pitch.
As crazy as it may sound to some people bashing the Lowland League, as it stands at present Kelty Hearts if they played in the Lowland League would be far more financially sustainable.
We would love the SJFA to listen to our clubs and see what can be done to improve, we should be looking to improve each week, month and year, hopefully it might be something that will happen.

Good post and well put. [emoji106]

For all the pyramid theads and nonsense posts, this is the nail on the head and exactly it. Great post

If we are heading to Talbot with a lead - then they will be renaming the stand after Lumsden.

The type of miracle that would be required for it to happen, take a lead to Talbot and they'll be renaming the stand after Jesus Christ.
