Final Renfrewshire Derby of the season

Recommended Posts

Was it not just a case of 2 teams overachieving and when it came to the crunch were not good enough ?

No, we finished 19 points clear in 4th. They're not even guaranteed 4th. Ok?

ETA Finishing 4th is not an overachievement for the Rovers, we once lead Bayern Munich 1-0 you know.

Don't even know where to begin. That's up there with getting humiliated in Hamilton 3 years ago. We just didn't get going and not one player looked interested or up for it. Huge contrast with the St Mirren team where every single player ran themselves into the ground.

We have ran out of luck, tiredness has kicked in, and our players are losing form but that didn't matter tonight. St Mirren absolutely deserved to win that, and 4-1 flattered us. Have to hold your hands up and give credit where it's due. The team we pumped back in November was full of losers, now it's a team full of winners and Jack Ross & Co have done a superb job.

Well how do you some up that shambolic performance...

Firstly cut out the 'tired' pish, every team plays the same amount of league games every season, yes some teams have their injury problems (like us) but these guys are professional footballers, if they can't cope with a fixture schedule they should hang up their boots and find an office job.

Massive difference from the St.Mirren team that we turned over in the previous fixture at Cappielow. Difference between the teams tonight was St.Mirren got the ball on the deck on a windy night and played good football, anytime we got possession we lumped it up the park to Shankland who is absolutely useless. Can see why he was punted by St.Mirren now, he shouldn't play for us again.

Our team has chucked it, we haven't won a game in almost a month and have only scored 2 goals in that period, one being a penalty. The game at Falkirk which was the game that pretty much secured our play-off place is the last game we won and haven't bothered to turn up since. It's as if the players don't care about second place. Mark Russell is a shadow of the player he was last season, Nesbitt is a wee shitebag, Oliver hasn't been the same player since his injury and Shankland may as well have been wearing a red top tonight.

Only one team turned up tonight and showed a bit of fight, well done St.Mirren massive turnaround since the turn of the year. Our players should hang their head in shame after that utter guff.

Sore one for Ton fans however St Mirren deserved that without getting into second gear. Every goal was a peach.

Very sore one! As much as I hate to admit it we can have no complaints and your win was well deserved. We were out-muscled, out-thought and out-played.

Has someone hacked your account? That was reasonably gracious which is surprising because you're usually a c**t.

An absolutely despicable performance. Brutal in the first half, extremely lucky to get in level and then continually fail to either take or defend routine throw-ins on our right hand side. There's no defending that, we were absolutely shocking. Worst performance of the entire season by a country mile.

First St. Mirren give us John McGinn. Now they give us the chance to get out of this division on Saturday. What a club  (Not a Club Club mind, but still what a club)

John was sitting in front of me in the main stand cheering on the Saints - still a Buddie :)

Delicious, delicious schadenfreude. Even in your state of graciousness.

You mug!

Had a lovely evening.

Special mention to Rory Loy and Jack Baird thought they were excellent. Amazing what Jack Baird can do when he doesn't have the crowd on his back. Morton's midfield were non existent.

Thought Mallan was quite poor in the first half, played a couple of really good passes but all too often simple passes weren't getting there. Second half, he was tremendous along with McGinn.

Stelios at full back - much better hopefully no more experiments with him on the wing.

Great to drag Dumbarton back into it, hopefully ourselves and one of Raith or Ayr pick up enough points.
