What Welshbairn has shown is actually terrifying as well and something I often think about when in public since the attacks in Nice. A lorry could wipe out 500 people in a place like that. Not that Princes street is any different when the fringe is on.

George III's sons the street's named after.  Was told that at the Castle randomly a few weeks back when we took a winter school there.

If they are trying to sell it to tourists, it would be better to avoid highlighting the shite weather. On top of the terroristy stuff, it's not exactly throwing light on the plus points.

No idea. I just remember the sheer hell of working in the City and commuting to London Bridge from Lewisham. A few years ago now so it may have changed.

It is pronounced almost as Princess street though isn't it?


I just pronounce it as Princes street as if it were belonging to a prince. Just depends who you are speaking to though I suppose.
