C4 just admitted they f*cked up on identifying the terrorist.

Seems like pretty poor journalism. If the guy had moved to Pakistan or something you can understand them not being able to confirm his whereabouts, but by all accounts he's in a British prison. Surely that's something they could have looked into first.

That's a big, big error.

Well...one of them is going to look very, very poor in a few hours. Would be surprised if C4 got it wrong though, they are normally pretty accurate.

I think that was the exact term used in the statement issued at the time. Catastrophic injuries is a really powerful term, and not one I'd heard before.

Pretty sure the term "catastrophic" was first used in relation to this by a junior doctor treating the injured.

Medics normally use the term referring to severe spinal or brain injuries, so if it came from a doctor that's probably what he meant.

It always surprises me, thankfully, just how useless/stupid/deluded these terrorists are. If you wanted to make a statement would you not have killed an actual MP or someone connected to the Iraq war or Syria?

Mowing down innocent people is doing completely the opposite of what they are trying to achieve. It will be interesting to hear their motives and who is behind it.

Some have suggested the name came from places like PrisonPlanet. Dont know but bloody hell if they did use that as a source.

They put up a board with heightened security alert at my work recently and a wifey who sits near me has not shut the f**k up about the prospect of ISIS storming the building at any minute.

Absolutely buzzing to hear her hot take on all this tomorrow :thumbsdown

What an absolute knob Andrew Neil is by the wayl. Have a read below any consolatory messages that anyone vaguely involved with the SNP has tweeted about this as well. Some of these people are not well.

If this day has confirmed nothing else, it's the absolute c**t status of that jug eared w****r.

Did a junior doctor take it upon themselves to speak to the press?

A major incident was declared so Guys and St Thomas's would have likely had a PR team on site. It may have been a doctor who spoke but who ever it was would have been trained in what to say. The recent trend had been for "life changing". That is pretty interchangeable with "catastrophic". The adjective would very likely have been part of the preplanned set of terms to describe various conditions for a major incident.
