Agreed he was poor that day as were the whole Cumnock team.  So your decision is based on one game?

I've seen enough of both players to form an opinion.

It's not based on a couple of weeks ago, saw him last season and felt he was okay but nothing better. Obviously he has a decent pedigree but I would like to think he has not been picked just because of his history and I stand by the players I mentioned before of being better.

So only on grounds that have the devil's candles?
Or are they expecting those selected to make themselves available during daylight hours midweek, which would mean an afternoon off work just for this. Can players reject being selected?

Most likely the squad will meet up on the Wednesday evening and play Thursday Friday and Saturday.

Plenty of time for players to get time off work.

Thank, that might be it.

If so that does beg the question why they couldn't just play the Saturday night - like with the Thursdays and Fridays (surely there won't be games on weekday afternoons or teatime) - and only have clubs with players involved idle, which could be paired-up. Instead of the whole West Region blank, plus East Region games within X miles or with players involved.

We certainly hosted games on a Friday afternoon before. I don't know about Keith Burgess, but Jim O'Donnell used to sound out players about their availability before he made the squad public.

HJ I can see games being played at Renfrew, Benburb then double header at Pollok on the Saturday

The CMs picked are a joke. Frize, Anderson, McGuinness, Jamie Wilson just for starters are all better. To overlook Christie and McGlinchey at Beith is as baffling as including McKenna who hasn't started a league game (although scored a hat trick in a much changed side when Burgess was watching).

A few strange selections and like JC I'd love to pick a side to beat them.

Spence in ahead of Anderson is just ridiculous , utter nonsense. McKenna in MacPherson on standby why ? Because McKenna scored a hat trick , one a pen , one a tap in during a match the manager saw , the very same match Anderson was outstanding. Pathetic.

Can't really comment on the players from the East but can think of a good few missed out from the West!

Firstly the fact there is no players from the double winners Glenafton is laughable - surely a bit of communicating and planning would mean they could schedule it a weekend Glens players can play??

Surprised no Pope from Talbot and Christie from Beith to name a few. Also completely shocked not one KRR player in the squad, especially the fact no other teams players are available who finished above them in Scotland (Kelty and Glens) last season (being biased to West)

Any idea how the other teams are made up out of interest?

I have to say I think it's ridiculous that the competition is scheduled on a weekend that means no players from last season's top team Glenafton can be selected.

Little consolation to Rose, but if Linlithgow had won on Saturday another 2 would've been missing.

IoM is their league select - also plays in the Island Games (possibly with nationality restriction?) plus FA Inter-Amateur Leagues Cup: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Isle_of_Man_official_football_team
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Isle_of_Man_Football_League

Eire is their equivalent of amateur football, below senior and intermediate:

Northern Ireland is intermediate and junior, similar to here:

Not a tap in by McKenna last night
