Stunning result for Banks surely. Hermes beat West Superleague team Petershill in 2014-15 and East Superleague side Jeanfield Swifts in 2016-2017, both in the Scottish Junior Cup, so it has been done, but you are right, as a rule, any wins in the Scottish for North sides are sadly rare. Hermes have yet to win a Scottish Cup Tie having lost to Deveronvale and Auchinleck Talbot on their two appearances.

Edusport v Rothes meanwhile will have priority at Galabank, so bump Annan SOS v Stranraer SOS onto the Friday night. BSCG usually move to Friday in LL but Scottish Cup doesn't allow permit Thursdays/Fridays, IIRC - TV aside - so likely Sunday.

Never realised that - double standards if you can play on a Friday if its on TV but you can't if its not!
HibeeJibee
It's something along those lines. In LL, South Challenge Cup, LL Cup etc. clubs like BSC Glasgow, Cumbernauld Colts and Stirling Uni always go Friday if clashing (Edusport similar; 'Shire however go Sunday); but in Scottish Cup they've always gone Sunday. Leith also Sunday at Spartans last season.

They would maybe get a better crowd on a Sunday afternoon mind you rather than a Friday night.
HibeeJibee
Aye but they choose to play all the other competitions on Fridays, presumably as they think that gets better crowd. Stirling were Sunday at Forthbank presumably not to knacker pitch. It may be as the Scottish Cup is nationwide. It could be quite an advantage to have your opponent come from up north on the Friday v travelling the day before and staying overnight.
TheScarf
Rothes are flying just now after signing Daniel Moore and Dale Gillespie. The tie with Edusport is intriguing to see where both sides are at.

BSC playing on a Friday could be down to Alloa using the ground for youth games on a Sunday. Travel could be the reason if long distances are involved as you say. Another clash is the Spartans v Vale of Leithen game as Edinburgh City are at home to Peterhead on the Saturday.

Edusport's new intake only arrived last week so they'll have extra strength and certainly depth come the end of the month. 5 hours ago, cowdenbeath said: Another clash is the Spartans v Vale of Leithen game as Edinburgh City are at home to Peterhead on the Saturday. Notice that... no Womens SPL game so could go Friday (bumping Spartans U20s v Selkirk U20s in Lowland & EOS U20s Development League) or Sunday. 3 hours ago, Poet of the Macabre said: Some trip for the Stirling Uni lads Students will relish a roadtrip I suspect! They're a professional set-up, but once the game is done I can imagine the Saturday night and return journey being an experience. They play in the British Unis Premier North - off to Loughborough on the Wednesday following - so are actually better used to long trips on midweek than on weekends. The Mantis
That draw was a bit of a white knuckle ride for the WW contingent. Wick out of the bag as the home team and the possibility of going there for the 3rd year running

HibeeJibee
SFA's featured tie of tomorrow is Nairn County v Whitehill Welfare. Whether by coincidence or deliberate, delightful there's a Junior game on in the town and it's Nairn St Ninian v Whitehills !
