Highlight of today is seeing young St Mirren fans in Farmfoods buying eggs and when questioned why, they said a pub was going to cook them for them. Then they walk out of Farmfoods and tanned the window with the eggs.

They should have thrown them at our players.

1 goal for and 6 against in our last 4 games resulting in 1 point.
This is relegation form!!! Naysmith needs to get this shower organised pronto (I have my doubts whether either of that is possible tho) or we're in for a nervy end to the season.

Once more, rotten.

We were the better side for most of the first half, but even then we created little other than the one off the bar.  We can hardly claim credit of our own for the one that hit the inside of the post.

In the second half, St Mirren were comfortably in control.

We need to win some time soon or this will get grim.  Has anyone else let St Mirren take six points away from their ground this season?

We are the only team St.Mirren have beaten twice this season either home or away.

Last season they only beat us and Alloa 3 times.

Excellent win on a day where other results meant our fate could feasibly have been sealed had we not won.

The first half was dreadful stuff and we rode our luck at points. To go in 1-0 up was a great boost for us. The second half we were in total control and perhaps could have added a third.

Frustrating that it's now out of our hands next week and we need to sit back and keep an eye on Somerset. Either way, at least one of the two closest teams to us and our next two league opponents are going to be dropping points. Next 2 league games are absolutely massive now.

Very predictable outcome that.

The 4-2-3-1 needs binned. As do the aimless punts at Dykes/Lyle.

Mercer took an absolute roasting from Morgan today who was only bettered by Mallan who was streets ahead of anyone.

Great support down from Paisley aside from the clown on the park. Even then it ended up showing up our stewards more than if did the St Mirren fans! With reactions like that Dowie and Higgins could yet find themselves employed at Palmerston next season.

It's going to take a lot of effort for me to bother going to another game this season.

Not long after he took over I recall Naysmith saying after one match that he would review it and if players were responsible they would work on that accordingly or if he could see that it was down to selection/formation/tactics then he would take responsibility and apologise to players if necessary - that time has surely come.

Seems to me the players - whilst far from perfect -  are 'carrying the can' every week while the Manager persists with his preferred formation that denies us a proven strike force of regular scorers and that is awful to watch.

Totally agree with palmy_calmy.

Nothing to play for?

Just our Championship League status.

Naysmith and the players had better waken their ideas up quickly or we will find ourselves in the relegation quicksands.

I don't think you need to worry - mainly because there are too many teams that would need to pass you before the end of the season and there's only seven or eight games left.

We were awful in the first half, wasn't quite sure how we were in front considering we created better chances for Queens than ourselves. Couldn't see any way we would keep a clean sheet but we were much better and pretty comfortable in the end. Just wish O'Brien could catch simple shots and crosses rather than randomly dropping them.

Mercer will wake up in the middle of the night in a cold sweat mumbling Morgan over and over again after that one. He was absolutely skinned for the penalty and Morgan went one better after we scored.

Disappointing with the results elsewhere but ultimately we're still a point off Ayr and the gap to eighth is four points instead of five so not too bad at all.

As for the fan who ran on the pitch, he managed to make it into the Queens fans, down a tunnel, through the doors and out the ground  Unfortunately for him he got huckled and was dragged back in 30 seconds later.

That's what might save us.

The gap is now quite small in terms of points, but it needs several sides who all need to play each other, to overtake us.

If we take a similar points return in the next four games to that from the last four though, it'll be very much on.

Nice to hear of us playing poorly and winning for a change.

All about the 3 points today. Unfortunate that the results didn't go our way but we won so we done our bit.

Play the under 20s in the cup final and soley focus on dragging Dumbarton into the shit.

Saints didnt play particularly poorly second half, although they didnt create much throughout the 90 minutes.

I thought we did ok first half. We werent great but still managed to create enough chances to have taken a deserved lead. The game would almost certainly have been very different if we had. To lose the goal just before half time was a real sucker punch and we never looked like getting back into the game after that. Even with the chances Lyle had there was never the feeling that we were going to take anything from the game.

The new signings who made such a difference when they came in have gone completely off the boil. Thomas never got into the game. Thomson tried hard but nothing is coming off for him at the moment. Rankine was poor again. Plenty of effort but most of the aimless balls forward seem to come from him. Given he's the one in the squad with a bit of experience, quality and the ability to put his foot on the ball he's been very disappointing lately. Add to that our inability again to get the best out of Dobbie and we look like a team with little attacking threat.

I am not quite sure exactly what Derek Lyle has done wrong to lose his place - despite having a spell out injured he has still returned a very creditable haul of goals and assists.

4-5-1 or 4-2-3-1 has never delivered a proper shape for us with this group -5even the games we won with it were turgid affairs.Manager must be watching a different game if he still sees this as way forward.

As can often happen the better team in the first half went a goal down. Queens really should have been a goal or two up. I think goal Mallen scored was about first attempt all half but not for first time Morgan skinned Mercer and left side of Queens team was posted missing.

Second half only one team it, second to every ball, the desire and heart didn't seem to be there and a lack of wanting to fight for each other and the team to haul us back in to the game.

MOM was Morgan everytime he go the ball you just knew he was going to get to by line and cross

Quite an easy 3 points in the end.

QOTS were all over us first half and should have been ahead by the time we scored right on half time.

Then we got the 2nd early second half and that was that. From that point QOTS went into pre season mode and we focussed on results elsewhere- which went against us.

Can't believe none of the 3 teams above us lost today, all had tough games.

Back to back wins is great, and we played well today and Wednesday. Still though, to be 10th at the end of March having played a game more the 9th is never a good thing.
