Dunfermline Athletic -vs- Dumbarton

Recommended Posts

Earlier in the season was worrying as we were terrible. Let in so many soft goals, got bullied every week, created no chances. Now we're at the stage where if one of our strikers could master knocking the ball into the net from within 8 yards we'd be comfortably climbing the table. As DA Baracus says, the mentality could soon change if we keep drawing games and find ourselves even lower in the table.

AJ is very conservative with his subs this year. Last season we won a lot of games by bringing on fresh forwards with half an hour to go but now the subs barely get a chance to make an impact. It has maybe benefited us to be a more solid and stable 11 but we probably need to be bolder at times to turn draws into wins.

Also, given you haven't won a league game since 7th Jan, why are you really that confident?

This has been trotted out before; totally meaningless, We have only played 4 games since then.

X3 draws  Hibs A (good result) United H(okay) St Mirren H (poor)

X1 loss Falkirk away. (Poor)

We are certainly in the relegation fight but stats like that prove nothing.

My point was that your form isn't any better than ours going into this game. If we had lost our last 4 and you had what you have mentioned above then fair enough, feel confident. But in our last 4 we have drawn 3 and won 1. My point was that a draw is likely here.

It's a bit simplistic to say that because you've got the same amount of points that the form isn't any better, you're last 4 games includes 3 games against the worst sides in the league, while ours had the three best teams in the league.

A win for Dunfermline is more likely because we've been a better side than Dumbarton this season, the bookies seem to agree with that as well.

You've been on par with us this season so far.

We've got the same number of points yes, but we've taken fewer games to accrue those points. We have a superior goal difference (despite not being able to score penalties) and have taken 4 points to your 1 from the 2 games so far between us. It's not hard to fathom why we'd be seen as favourites to be honest.

If we draw tomorrow and you go on to win your games in hand (or take any points from them) then I'll accept you have been better than us this season.

I never mentioned anything about either team being favourites either.

Dunfermline start here as favourites, they have home advantage and finished the game at Easter Road strongly.  However, whilst we're hardly Barca I fancy that we are now a better side than the last time any Pars fans clapped eyes on us.

Nothing will be decided on Saturday but a win for either side would be big, whilst a point for us would not be a disaster either.

The only reason we're still near the bottom is due to our dreadful start to the season, where we still managed to cuff Dumbarton tbh. Sare yin.

Keep doing what we're doing and we'll comfortably finish 6th, that includes the inevitable defeat at the hands of Falkirk.

A really poor attempt. You didn't even give that any thought did you?

Please point out which of the sentences were incorrect.

Dumbarton are a league 2/1 side who have been punching above their weight for a few seasons thanks to being well run and managed, as well as a spot of luck regarding relegation dogfights., realistically, you will be back in league 1 soon and challenging for playoff positions.

Ooft; two thirds of a season at the second highest level and you turn into Billy Big Baws.

We maybe have had some luck and may still be at a high point for us, but at least we ve been punching.

Look at the last 5 seasons and tell us who's the league one team.
