I knew him when he was a kid and liked him fine.

He emerged from the Higgins thing with more credit than his adversary.

I don't know him so can't comment on what he's like. As I said he's maybe the type of player who for some unknown reason gets opposition supporter's backs up. I'm not sure he did emerge with more credit than Higgins tho. Sent-off in a televised national cup final, lost the Cup, suspended, and it possibly contributed to his departure from Partick Thistle. Apart from a busted nose Higgins came out of it ok I would say and he lifted the trophy.

Higgins' behaviour was more unbecoming than Muirhead's in my view.

I don't think either was worse; they were equally bad. Higgins was out of order getting in Muirhead's face the way he did and a headbutt is a disgusting thing on or off a football pitch. Higgins' behaviour was inexcusable but a headbutt wasn't the deserved punishment.

They both looked like utter idiots IMO.

So winding someone up when they miss a penalty against you is worse than headbutting someone. Strange view but never mind, each to their own opinion I suppose.

I've got to admit I hate it when you see players taunting the opposition on the field and would hate to see any falkirk player do it. I always remember trezeguet giving Caldwell the 4-0 treatment when playing for france. It was great to see him getting his just desserts when we beat them home and away. It's no way to treat a fellow pro.

I see it as similar to diving: it's wrong, it shouldn't be in the game but it is and if players can use it to their advantage without getting caught they'll do it.

The worst I remember was that p***k Martin Keown when Van Nistelrooy missed a penalty against Arsenal. Not just him but he was the worst. Shocking.

Remember that as well, practically jumps onto big Ruud screaming at him. What a state for a grown man to get into

Don't get me wrong.  I loved that final.  The drama at the end of extra time - in which the episode we're talking about was a big part - was something else.

Then we won on penalties.

Then Thatcher died.  (Admittedly this happened the following day and might not have been all that closely related to the penalty incident)

Muirhead's reaction to events on the field was much easier to understand than our captain's though.

So, did he really headbutt Higgins or was it the usual push of the head in the face that we regularly see?

I honestly don't think I've ever seen a proper headbutt at a football match. (Well between players anyway!) Most of the time the 'headbuttee' :unsure2: goes down like a ton of bricks when there's feck all wrong with them.

It was a belter if I remember correctly. Burst nose ?

ETA: just watched it again it's not actually, quite timid but more than just head to head

It's real enough.

Higgins sports a bloody nose throughout the celebrations that follow.

Its not really unknown, Muirhead tends to niggle players and can be very much in their face at times.

He has down some work with specialists in controlling his anger. He has an indifferent period this season but there isn't really one player at the club who hasn't, recent weeks back to what he does best but I'd like to see him in a central role, tho feel only a back three would suit him.

Injuries at Patrick seen him drop down to us.

Houstie hasn't won a league game at Queens, last seasons 2-2 was a bitter blow, so if its another 2-2, hopefully its us getting the late goal

You got a really late goal in one of them.  We just got a later one.

Just watched it and I've got to say that it was probably the worst that I've seen! Have to say that I'd maybe have stuck the nut in Higgins myself the way he acted though.
