Actually really looking forward to the game and it's one we've really got to take 3 points from.

I've been to both games against Edinburgh City this season and I have been impressed with them, in different ways, each time. They have certainly been a good addition to the league and we are certainly up for another tough game at Forthbank.

The game in December has probably been our worst performance under Dave Mackay, it was absolutely chronic. I honestly don't think we have improved massively since then, but that was a bad team having an extremely bad day so fingers crossed we'll not have another.

Win on Saturday and beat Cowdenbeath next week and it certainly makes things a little bit interesting for the Binos.

Here's hoping. Edinburgh seem to be in a bit of bad form so hopefully we can punish them, 2 very big games and 2 games we should be winning.

We face 3 games in just over a weeks time that will determine whether we are going to move away from the Relegation playoff spot or we will be in the mix to avoid the 10th spot.

First up Edinburgh City on Saturday a game we NEED to win but as previous posters have said Edinburgh City will be a tough nut to crack, they don't score many goals and don't concede many either. Just hope our defence  turns up and manages to stop them from scoring, that will help and a 1-0 victory will get us the points but I don't think it will be pretty on Saturday and it would be nice if Andy Little could pick his first Albion goal on Saturday. Performance does not matter its getting that home win and the 3 points to widen the gap between ourselves and Edinburgh City and hope Cowdenbeath get beat on Saturday as a bonus.

Then on Tuesday night we face an Elgin side in the hunt for a promotion playoff spot and again we need the 3 points and hope results elsewhere go our way. If we win both games that will set us up nicely for the visit to Cowdebeath.

According to the Stirling Observer today, Dave MacKay hopes to have a Central defender in place for Saturday, looks like Ross McMillan will miss this game, also concerns over Frazier Wright for Saturday will knee problems oh dear looks like Ross Smith and possible new guy in the centre of defence on Saturday. Happy days [emoji26]

City are similar, you guys on Saturday, Cowdenbeath on Tuesday and Berwick at Meadowbank on Saturday. Although still a long way to go if City can pick up points in the next week or so and deny other clubs points it may be looked upon as pivotal point in our season hopefully for the right reasons. Saying that it's been proven that anyone can beat anyone else in this league.

Ousman See out for another two weeks, Craig Beattie seems to have been carrying injuries for most of the season and is likely to be out, Nico Gibson out with long term injuries, Ross Allum sent to Spartans, Guthrie not exactly setting the heather on fire, new signing Lewis Allan still finding his feet and Ortrega Deniran brought back on amateur terms. That's the bad news on the forward front.

The midfield fairs better but only just. Josh Walker has impressed in the 4 games against Elgin, Clyde Annan and Montrose making good use of his inch-perfect passing and crossing skills even scoring a goal on Saturday. Marc Laird has been impressive when he came in to the team and has scored as well. Gair, Dunn, McFarland, Cummings and McConnell all get pass marks in supporting roles but there's no one in that 5 who stands out and can take the game by the scruff of the neck. (Sure they all look busy enough and do lots of running down the wings but it's not getting converted into goals)

Defence wise. Stobie has been outstanding, Edinburgh City Player of the Year for me but showed uncertainty when faced with the two penalty kicks recently, twice diving the wrong way. Some stunning saves though which have kept the team in the game on several occasions - made better by the fact that some of the strikes were aimed straight at him. Mbu, Porteous, McKee, Dunsmore and Harrison have all been a steadying force at the back and are a great credit to the team's goal difference. Caddow and Donaldson have filled in ably when required to do so.

Multiple injuries to players have shown up the weakness in the team and some of the new signings for Edinburgh City earlier on in the season have proved less fruitlful than the impact made by the other teams' new signings in League 2. In summing up, I'd say that there's still a long way to go before the play-off final.  Taking points off Stirling Albion, Cowdenbeath and Berwick Rangers in the next 3 games is a must. Following that are 3 very tough games against Forfar, Clyde and Elgin.  But the run in with games against Montrose, Cowdenbeath, Arbroath, Annan, Stirling and Berwick Rangers looks promising and with a fully fit squad in the coming weeks, I'd say Edinburgh City can look forward to a second season in League 2 finishing 7th or more likely 8th with no problem.

As for the Stirling Albion v Edinburgh City game on Saturday - an outside 1-1 bet.

What are the odds on Blobby?

Same odds as they were on Wayne Shaw at Sutton. 8-1

Here's an impossible bet for you. Tam the Bam to get a picture of someone on the Edinburgh City bench eating a Blobby biscuit during the match at Stirling on Saturday.

Ok. Now the serious stuff. 3 formations Edinburgh City could go with on Saturday.

A leaf out of the Craig Levein book. The 5-5 Formation: Stobie in goal,  (Back 5 from Left to Right) Porteous, Donaldson, McKee, Harrison, Dunsmore. (A Midfield of) Gair, McFarland, Walker, Laird, McConnell. Subs: Caddow, Dunn and Cummings to come on and refresh the team in the second half.

The 5-4-1 Formation: Stobie in goal, (Back 5) Gair, Porteous, McKee, Harrison, Dunsmore. ( A Midfield of) Dunn, Walker, Laird, Cummings. (Lone striker up front) Lewis Allan.

The 5-2-3 Formation: (AKA The Monaco style used against Manchester City in the Champions League) Stobie in goal, (Back 5 of) Gair, Porteous, McKee, Harrison, Dunsmore. (A Midfield of) Walker and Laird. (Up front) Allan, Deniran, Guthrie.

A 4th option of the 4-4-2 formation is the most likely however but I hesitate to guess the line-up in case it upsets anyone in particular :whistle
