Owsley Posted March 5, 2017 Share Posted March 5, 2017 I have a bit of sympathy for the linesman. We have the benefit of freeze frame, slo-mo etc. No sympathy for Beaton. Those saying pictures prove Gillespie got Toral's foot, are these newspaper pics, which I haven't seen, because TV showed no such thing, no matter what the analysts say. Both angles showed Gillespie about to plant his foot, and Toral's foot behind it but didn't show contact. There may well have been but personally I think Gillespie missed his foot and planted it just in front. I'll happily admit to being wrong if anyone can show conclusively that there was boot to boot contact. And having his hand on Toral's side isn't pulling him back.
