I don't even think there was a particularly single big reason why. I remember being pretty young and having a kind of naïve disappointment at Scotland not really being a country (my Grandad had for years collected all these great history of Scotland magazines (mail order, I think from the Sunday mail) into these big binders and I'd read the lot more than once. I've always been left wing, and back then that meant Labour - I guess I was a Unionist by lazy circumstance . I've always prided myself on the logic of my positions, I think the turning point came when I realized how much a mass of bullshit was required to try and bend supporting Labour and giving a shit about Scotland into a cogent argument. 10/
BerwickMad
NE Devolution: No 2005: Lib Dem (tactical) 2010: Labour 2015: Labour Referendum: Remain Voted Tory once at a council election as I knew the candidate, the Labour candidate was a paper candidate from Blyth and the Lib Dem was a fuckin idiot. Hopefully never have to do it again. Probably should have spoiled my ballot. Oh, and I also voted for myself as an independent!
welshbairn
Labour till the Iraq war, Lib Dem till I moved back to Scotland, then SNP apart from the last Holyrood election because I had a bet on SNP not getting an overall majority disapproved of my candidate's views on gay marriage. Think I voted Labour because he actually knocked on the door and seemed sound according to the family, I was out. Yes to indy, electoral reform and remain. mizfit
Turned 18 in 2009 2010 General Election - Conservative 2011 Scottish Parliament - Scottish Tories/Lib Dems 2011 Alternative Vote referendum - Didn't bother 2014 Independence Referendum - Yes 2015 General Election - SNP 2016 Scottish Parliament - SNP/SNP 2016 EU Referendum - Remain Genuinely think my big turning point was meeting Murdo Fraser and realising how much of a fucktrumpet he was. Then my mate who was a big SNP supporter talked through everything from his side during Indyref, from there i pretty much changed from a No to a yes, went and done my research and pretty much came to the conclusion that my views were slightly left of center, and i couldn't bring myself to vote for Labour at any point so i settled for the SNP. My views will probably change again, but i'm happy with the SNP for now.

I think I did but as it was some form of PR I cant even remember where I put my X :Prob SNP ? Six MEPs from SNP 2/Lab 2/Libs1/Cons1. Turnout was about 30%. In the rest of the U.K , UKIP got 13 from all over England and Wales and was second to the Conservatives. Northern Ireland had a STV system with lots of preferences to reflect the "communities" Most folk found it hard to be enthused by EU elections? The main things for me were the rise of Blairism and the realisation that Blairism was a natural event, as the majority of the press and middle-England were always going to shun a "scarily socialist" alternative. Looking forward to May, and hopefully we'll get a good few Labour rotten boroughs cleared out.
John Lambies Doos
1997 LabourAll other times SNP, except green at a euro election maybe 99?And Yes to indy also. It's amazing how many people including myself were takin in by the new labour movement and the optimism/charisma Blair brought in 1997.It will always be SNP for me now until we gain independence. I will then look at options available

The Chlamydia Kid
When you see people voting conservative in Scotland its basically Turkey's voting for christmas. Ive voted SNP in every election except my first vote in 2005 where i voted Lib Dem because John Mcfall the labour MP came into my modern studies class and came across as an absolute fucknugget. Voted remain, yes to AV and yes at the indy ref. Why are so many SNP voters so self righteous and arrogant that they think they know better how others should vote better than they do themselves??? I am also sure plenty of your colleagues at work are conservatives...
