List_of_Jericho
Would it not make more sense to have a speakers night on a Saturday or in the off season?

Careful now not many people are used to hearing such common sense lol.
Cbrown4
Usually is a Saturday, reason it's a Friday this year is league have moved base from Colville park to Alona hotel and Saturday was booked up. One off.

One off. Surely if this was organised a while back they could as list of Jericho pointed out have it on a Saturday that was available to the benefit of the clubs. Everybody knows about the fixture pile up for most clubs towards the end of the season just seems like poor decision making IMO.
Cbrown4
They weren't in a position to have it on Saturday due to venue availability. I agree fixtures should be out though as nothing to stop games going ahead.

auld yin wae knowledge
Just a few years back it was a THURSDAY,......... The SAFL are having a similar event in March but it is on a Saturday and its held every 6 years and its not a fund raiser it is more a "hall of fame" night where the League recognize players and officials with outstanding service and loyalty to the club.
