PROJECT BRAVE MEETING AT HAPDEN PARK.

A few parents concerned that if their son plays at an academy that has to fold due to the new plans, whether that club can still hold on to the registration and wait for compo before they can sign for another pro team.
Would certainly make you think twice before signing for an initiative team or current performance team that might get left out.

Not much new in here but apparently it's radical and 95% of people agree with it!

I don't think there is much to disagree with on paper. If you get past the broad theme of "fewer but better" then there were 3 main areas of contention... changing the top age-group of development football (yet again); the claim that the 16 academies, down from 29, would actually be divided into two categories of 8 each; plus putting OF 'B' teams into the league. In the first case the proposal to replace the U20s league where a maximum number of over-agers can be fielded, with an SPFL Trophy aka reserve league where a minimum number of U20 and over-age players must be fielded, doesn't actually seem to change much anyway.

As regards the other two cases its the "on paper" caveat which seems to be the problem. If club don't get assurances over the 8 not 16, they will obviously be cautious. Meanwhile all talk of OF 'B' teams seems to have been done by 'leaks' from 'unnamed insiders' in the red-tops.
