Edinburgh v Forfar

Love the way the seats at Meadowbank glow orange when the night sky draws in after half-time. Strange one this. The entire area behind the Media desks from top to bottom were designated a no go area today (First ever occurrence this season). Didn't bother me that much and it was nice to watch the game from a different angle.

Speculation-explanation:

1. Media complained that too much bad language was being used at the previous home match with Arbroath and demanded action?

2. The crowd expectation was low due to the big match at Tynecastle with Bonnyrigg v Hibernian and the powers that be decided to huddle us all together.

3. None of the above.

A tale of two soft pens, one saved and one scored.
A few thoughts from the game:-
a) Is Swankie worth his place.
b) did we expect vastly experienced left back Malone to play holding mid.
c) If Josh Peters is not scoring goals what else does he contribute.
d) How good was David Cox today?  Absolutely  man of the match!
e) How much better did we look when Scott came on?

Agree with all of this

Poor game but the kind that wins leagues.Nice day in hospitality with City guys and outstanding steak pies in boardroom and a cushion on seat in hospitality seats behind press box.Add in Arsebroath result and all round a perfect day.

Grant Adam is so hot and cold, one minute he keeps us in the game, but then the next minute he makes a stupid mistake.

Well done tho, two pen saves in two matches

Someone said Grant Adam's brother is none other than Charlie Adam (of Scotland fame). Haven't bothered to check the facts on Wikipedia yet though.

Couldn't make the game today but for the season:

a) aye, he really does contribute and is back scoring goals this season.  Good to see him getting subbied through a game now though.

b) Bizarre to say the least.  Surely he'll be played a left back for the majority of the remainder of the season.

c) He'll come good again but needs game time, he's got loads to offer in coming seasons, I hope it's with us.  He seemed to be getting his sharpness back again in recent games, lots of shots and most on target.  Easy player to subby if it's not coming off for him in a game without upsetting the defensive set up of the team

d) Between him and TOB for player of the year, the rest aren't close.  What a player, scores goals, sets them up, tracks back and runs until he's exhausted.  One of the best in this league.

e) Probably warrants a start but is a very effective impact sub.

He's a spitting image.  A bit of a fud too, just like his bro.

We deserved at least a point out of that. Not gonna go into too much because I'm still bitter about today's result.
Thank god for cowdenbeath

You did.It was a scrappy game and penalties aside not much in it.City had a good spell in the 2nd half but missed the chance to get back in it.Delighted to get the 3points and hopefully sign of champs, playing poorly and getting the win.Good luck for the rest of the season.

Loons fans might be interested that it used to be claimed that you could fit the population of Brechin into the stand at Meadowbank. Nowadays this is not true. You can fit 75% of the population of Brechin into the stand at Meadowbank ("Hopefully when it's demolished"- evil Loon)

Brechin makes Meadowbank stadium look like Wembley

Bloody hell, why didn't I think of that? That would have been a great shot if I'd placed Mr Blobby smack in behind the media guys - sitting on his own with his Blobby-Cam taking notes.

Here's one for the Blobby purists.. (The amber and black bobble hat in the corner is a Hogwarts Knitted Hat - and not a Meadowbank Thistle original)

Edinburgh people are strange , really strange

If people are wondering if Mr. Blobby is deflated after a defeat the answer is no. His two carers take a hand each and walk him to the car before placing him in the back seat. It's not a sight you see every day.

And what about the carers for Mr Blobby's carers do they get in the car as well:rolleyes:

Actually the reverse is true. Mr Blobby has a long term injury with a pinhole p***k to his left leg and required blowing up at half-time. Sadly Blobby's days of being Edinburgh City's number one fan (at both home and away matches) are numbered

Spoiler

(cue sighs of relief from the Senior Citizens staff at Edinburgh City)

. Not surprising really as he harks back to a manufacture date in 1993 and he's cracking up at the seams too. No amount of super glue or visits to the bicycle repairman shop for tube patches have worked. Fortunately, there's still life in the old man yet and he should make it to Elgin City's Borough Briggs ground on Saturday, if the supporters' coach is still running. And Mr Blobby has an important date in his diary. Stirling Albion, being the only club to refuse him entry to their stand at Forthbank on Health and Safety grounds in the first game, has received a personal welcome from the Binos chairman to be the guest of honour in their boardroom in the return match on the 25th February. Mr Blobby is in two minds as to whether he should wear an Edinburgh City tie (already purchased for the occasion) or his old Meadowbank Thistle Founding members' tie (not seen the light of day since 1995).

PS. Cowdenbeath's Central Park is also pencil in for a Blobby visit for the rearranged League 2 fixture - whenever that is - and also sojourns to the City Cup semi-final and City Cup Final whenever they take place.
