Beng (Hons) Degree in Electronic and Electrical Engineering from Strathclyde. Maybe doin a masters next year.

I very nearly studied that there.  Instead of that, I joined the MEng programme at Aberdeen as it allowed you to study the electronic, mechanical and civil aspects before you specialised in 3rd year, whereas Strathclyde didn't offer that option.

I graduated with a 2:1 in Geology & Petroleum Geology from Aberdeen.  Currently in second year of a PhD having been dumped on the petroleum geologist scrapheap during the downturn.

Yes. An ordinary degree in management because I didn't fancy doing 4th year. I hated student types when I was at uni, still do, so got out as early as possible and got a job. Half considering going back to uni to do something else though.

Also did this but with Civil Engineering. Not really sure why "honours" became the norm. Hated every minute of Uni itself but loved the lifestyle. Fell out with one of the tutors because he was teaching the class wrong in something I knew a lot about (setting-out). I got to the stage of wondering what else we were getting taught wrong and called it a day after 3rd year but getting the degree. Was always a means to an end for me anyway.

No, I did my apprenticeship and then applied for Uni since it let me get into do an engineering degree, I was accepted but in a strange turn of events I got offered a really good job so I took that instead, 5 years on I'm still in said job and very glad I didn't waste my time going to uni for 3/4 years.

Yeah, I quite enjoyed lie ins, not really taking it seriously, crisps for breakfast and getting lashed through the week. Didn't enjoy actually going to uni though.
Also, I've never really used my degree but it undoubtedly has helped me just having one (rightly or wrongly).

I have a degree.  2:1 Joint Masters in Geography/Management.

The geography half was a complete waste of time.

^^^Never gets lost, but would know what to do if he did.

Unsurprisingly no degree, but I did Highers when they were hard. Didn't pass many, mind you. When I left school it really was a tiny, clever minority that went to Further Education. There wasn't the same level of expectation. I did get invited to a trip round Glasgow Uni, but loads of us did and I just slipped away to the record shops.

No degree. Done an HND in Electronic and Electrical Engineering, didn't like it, done an HND in Social Sciences which was interesting enough but couldn't really see a career path at the end of it.

Work in a field almost completely unrelated to both.

BSc (Mathematical Sciences) and PGCE. On the non-Uni side of things I am also a WGL (which has recently been renamed the HML).

You're going to run out of letters, shortly.

2:1 Degree in Economics with Politics. Unusually, I use it every day in my job.

That said, the office I work in no longer actively recruit graduates. Instead they prefer bright school leavers. More keen to learn and less demanding.

Are you outstanding in your field? Think I know what you work as, if so emoji6.png

I wouldn't go that far...

I get paid far more money than I should for the work that I do. Can be long hours but spend large amounts of time doing nothing while we wait for information coming through that will let us do what we need to. No wonder the worlds finances are fucked and everyone has a low opinion of investment banking :D

Studied one year at Edinburgh Uni doing Aritifical Intelligence before realising that I really couldn't care less about it, and was surrounded by people who loved doing it in their spare time. Not for me!

Went to Heriot Watt and got a general Management degree. Now working in Finance and been studying CIMA for the last few years so it's actually come in useful with the CIMA studying.

The degree is good to have on a CV, but the CIMA qualification is more important. Wouldn't change my uni days though - out at least 3/4 nights a week and not going in when you can't be ersed. The good life!
