andylivi1 Posted January 21, 2017 Share Posted January 21, 2017 Pretty dreadful stuff from us for about 75-80 minutes, last 10-15 we done everything bar score though, just one of those days when the ball wouldn't go in. Brilliant goal to win the tie and truth be told the team that wanted it more got the result. East Fife where first to every ball, every tackle, fought for everything, us on the other hand looked lethargic and uninterested until finally they realised it was a cup tie. We just lumped it forward nearly the whole game, really poor from us. East Fife like Queen's Park have our number, best of luck in the next round. Pony in the middle of the park with massive gaps for EF to stroll through and totally immobile donkeys at full-back. That is down to organisation and team selection. We might get away with it due to shite title contenders but on one-off games like today where we have a chance at making a bit of money and a tiny chance of making history, to see so little fight was so disappointing. I put that squarely down to a lack of motivating skills from the manager. Not the first time after the embarrassment at Stranraer last season. Get him to f**k at the end of the season. Good goal mind you.EF were first to every ball but very lucky to keep 11 men on the park.Not one single livi player can come away from that thinking they had a good game.Cadden was woeful and needs to learn that it's not 1v11 but that he has teammates on the pitch.There was no width with devita pretty much sitting in cm the entire game rather than being where he should be.Lithgow is a disgrace. How on earth he is keeping one of the best left backs in the league on the bench I have no idea.Pittman had his worst game in a livi shirt today too.Long balls are awful as all our best chances came from passes and crosses from the flanks.Just simply awful. Afro Posted January 21, 2017 Share Posted January 21, 2017 As awful as I've seen us all season. EF definitely have our number but today was by far the easiest game they've had against us. Goal was an absolute screamer but tbh, neither team carved out any real goal threat all game save for an EF breakaway in the second half. I was willing to give Hopkin the benefit of the doubt this season, to allow him to try and learn some tactics and become manager. He's failing so far. Has no idea about making effective subs by and large, and he can't set up a team to save himself. Today was a prime example; 4 CBs in a back four, no width and we still looked powderpuff at the back. Midfield was as soft as a baby's shite, unfortunately for us when Pittman plays poorly we look awful. I also have no idea why were constantly pumping balls up to two of the shortest strikers in the league. Hopkin has a wealth of talent to choose from for this level and he's making such heavy weather of it it beggars belief. He's got 4/5 months to prepare for the Championship or else we're fucked before we've even started (assuming we don't make a monumental c**t of this title race).Congrats to East Fife, and good luck in the next round. Now tell me where this time wasting came in, we were too busy having more possession than you, more shots than you and generally playing better than you to have time to time waste!!! Better luck next time champ and all that!!! Btw until you last 10-15 minute flurry at the end of the game the possession rate was between 58-56% to us for the majority of the game!!! Don't confuse your teams inability to get the ball of us for large passages of the match as us time wasting, that's not how it works!!! ETA And as for the lucky not to have a man sent off bull you're trying with as well, those stats come with a foul count for your perusal!!! If the referee had some bottle to show the card for diving in the box you might have had a couple sent off yourself!!! Sweet taste of bitter salty tears etc etc!!! Not much to add that hasn't been said already, we spent most of the game playing pointless punts up the park and the better team won on the day. What's Lithgow doing at LB? Not made it to many games this season but surely Longridge should be there? Surprised EF didn't play it down that side more often. Another year where we've shat it in the 4th round, don't mind too much as long as we don't f**k up in the league. Good luck in the next round, sure you'll be confident with the run you're on!
