Steelers @ Patriots, AFC Championship

The New England Patriots will take on the Pittsburgh Steelers for the second time this season under far different circumstances.

The Patriots traveled to Pittsburgh and beat the Steelers 27-16 when backup quarterback Landry Jones filled in for an injured Ben Roethlisberger in Week 7. That was one of just two games Roethlisberger missed this season.

Tough test for Pittsburgh but with the 3 B's they certainly have the talent to advance past New England and onto Houston

Massive game for legacies in Pittsburgh.

Tomlin: I'm a Tomlin defender and fan, but I don't think any current Super Bowl winning coach outside of Mike McCarthy gets more shit from his own fanbase. Getting a 2nd Super Bowl trophy certainly makes him untouchable for as long as he makes the playoffs occasionally and probably would buy him 4 straight non-playoff years before he gets in trouble. That's huge for such a young coach who seems content to go through his whole career in Pittsburgh as long as able. Even just getting to a 3rd Super Bowl and losing probably puts him in a similar position. A loss and all he's done in taken the heat off for one year. The knives will be back out as soon as we miss the playoffs or lose in the first round again.

Ben: Maybe the least respected other than Eli of the two time Super Bowl champion QBs.

AB, Pouncey, and Bell: Mark Madden's so-called "No Ring Mafia." These guys all have a reputation as fools in Pittsburgh (Pouncey much less than the other two), but big stars on Super Bowl winning teams get a free lifetime legend pass no matter what their behavior or personality. It's up in the air how many years they have with good Ben and there's no guarantees on the QB situation after he declines, so they need to take advantage. They might only have a couple more chances.
