Given the serious nature of the subject the club are happy for parents or those working, volunteering with kids just to turn up. nugget man
The seminar was run by enough abuse uk with andy doing a short piece at the start. Anyone involved with youths needs to give the topic of abuse and grooming some of their time. The presentation was challenging and the supporting evidence somewhat alarming. By chance the same day this charity comes to scotland the sfa announce a review of abuse? The sfa need to do what ACFC did and invite them back and roll it out to all clubs at venues around the country, wouldn't cost that much either. The charities approach is very different to the subject, i believe armadale cfc are putting follow up material on their website next week, fair play to them for doing something ! Pimmie
Nothing random about it to be fair. It's a topic that's not covered on any of the Safeguarding courses and everyone's eyes were opened on the night. The feedback we have received from course attendees is fantastic. its just a shame that the SFA & SYFA didn't see fit to run this course. Armadale CFC were actually the first football club at any level to hold this course throughout the UK. If it saves one kid from abuse then it was time & money well spent.
