Fife vs Airdrie

Airdrie decided to go 3 at the back but EF played 1 up.

Wilson should have pushed a defender into midfield and buried them when we had the momentum.

All credit to EF for their "rope 11 dopes" but hopefully the fans from our POV those goals we lost were horrendous again.   Yet another goal tamely conceded from a corner and absolutely horrific to lose the 2nd to a header where we did.   Both Gorman and McDonald failed to compete in the air.

It's ok lads,  I'll get it for you!

Thankfully both McKay and Leitch combined to salvage a draw but tbh,  it was probably undeserved and harsh on the Fifers.

Lastly,  massive well done to Scott Stewart.  Despite looking rusty he was an absolute force down the right flank.

Difficult to know what to say about this match. Airdrie should have won easily. How we failed to convert one of the 5 or so corners in a row was pathetic. Can nobody in our team head a ball cleanly?

Didn't really understand the set up. Seemed more like a formation for an away game. Some of the players didn't seem to understand it either. Brown was running about as if he didn't know where he should be in the first half. I believe that starting a home match without either Russell or Mackay in the starting line up is a backward step.

Both goals were preventable. Lots of players at fault for first goal with Ferguson (who you're not allowed to criticise) rooted to his line not for the first time this season. For the second goal our defender (MacDonald?) stood back and allowed their guy a free header.

Wasn't greatly impressed with East Fife who's time wasting was chronic and ignored by the ref. One thing I feel is that if East Fife have gone 6 games winning, in this league if we can sort out the defence we should make the play offs.

Fucking Bawz, had all the Magnificent Seven jpgs and gifs looked out and ready to go!!!

Two points dropped tbh!!!

Clear 4th if we had held on and possibility of 2nd if we won our game in hand, got to be disappointed!!!

But still, the curse was only at half power this time and we held firm against it!!!

Onwards and upwards!!!

Just like against Rovers we had umpteen chances on goal but cannae convert them. East Fife had far fewer chances but were more devastating with their finishing.

Thought Airdrie played a good solid 35-40 minutes and were quite dominant but then fell away. Especially in't second half.

Stewart was excellent in the first 45. Disappeared a bit in the 2nd.

Fife should get some kind f award for professional time wasting. That stretcher caper was golden.

Explain how a draw was undeserved, we dominated and were by far the best team in the first half. Second half was more even but again two defensive blunders cost us.

Just noticed that QotS dropped 2 points to a last minute equaliser as well, so Dougie did take on half the curse, spooky!!!

Not totally disagreeing with your overall point, draw probably fair. But we have about 2 defensive blunders in every game, they can't really be made out to be 2 exceptions. Not being able to defend means you don't really deserve to win no matter how dominant you are with the ball.

It's not as straight forward as he's rooted to his line. He struggles when there's a player sat on top of him basically and ends up getting boxed in. A start for him would be pushing and shouting for a foul for obstruction to be honest. There are times when there's no attempt by the other player to play the ball

The point about criticising is that he's only 19(?) and will learn over time. In the meantime he generally gets next to zero help from the likes of Boateng etc which contributes to a bit of a mess all in all.

Being 19 has nothing to do with it. If's he's good enough to play in the first team he's not exempt from criticism. When the first goal went in the guy sitting next to me(who I don't know) turned to me and said "that goalie's a f....... waste of space" so I'm not alone.

You could also argue that a more experienced keeper would be able to instruct and organise his defenders a lot more.
